    The Sportscenter Championship Series

Has anyone been following the SCS (Sportscenter Championship Series) and listening to Mark May, Todd Blackledge, and Rece Davis give their opinions about who is their top 10 teams and who will win the "key" matchups each week and doing their own SCS poll???? Ohio State loses to Texas and finishes fourth, USC plays only one major game (vs Notre Dame) and goes undefeated and finishes second to Texas! 3rd is an unbeaten Auburn team, and FSU goes undefeated but losing to Miami in the ACC championship game.... They are having a playoff of the top 10 starting tonight so the first round winners (top 6 teams got byes) will be announced tonight, and I think it will be Friday (in time for the season) that they will announce who they "think" will win the sportscenter playoff championship.... Sounds like they are leaning towards USC versus Texas rematch seeing how they finished one and two in the polls in their "opinion"..... Does anyone else get tired of May's bashing of Ohio State (he loves Iowa and that is who he picked to win the Big 10) and his loving of his alma matter, USC???? Now I realize that he is an alum of USC, but it is my opinion that as a national commentator he should be unbiased in his opinion and his approach.... But clearly he plays the homer card when it comes to USC.... Is anybody else tired of the media love affair with the Trojans???

You are absolutely correct. May is a homer. Trev Alberts was eating crow when the Bucks won the National Championship and I'm hoping for a similar situation here.

I've been watching this crock of shhhh too. The bashing is getting old. You'd think by now they would have an intelligent thought in their brain and do their jobs. I mean they are supposed to be unbiased and do their homework. Ohio State lost a super close game to Texas which they should have won if that infamous TE catches the ball. And they had a bad game to Big Ten Champ Penn State that they should have won too. Then they beat ND in the Fiesta Bowl soundly which in all accounts beat USC if it wasn't for Reggie Bush shoving his QB in the end zone. Ohio State got no respect in 2002 and are getting far less now. I'm shocked everyone put OSU at #1 preseason, I think they must have done it cause they were banking on them losing to Texas anyway. Who knows? I just can't wait til that high powered offense is rolling from the get go and the defense shakes out to be a very formidable bunch. We all know they aren't AJ Hawk types, but they can't be that bad if Tressel recruited them. Go Bucks!! FFFfffffffff the Sucks (May and Alberts)!!!

Actually Mark May went to Pitt and I think part of him being such an @ss is because he was never highly recruited by Ohio State when he played. You can just tell he really, really wants Ohio State to lose and is unhappy when we win.

We're not the only ones who feel this way about May.

From this link (ESPN Drinking Game)
    http://www.fanblogs.com/ncaa/006374.php
"Rule No. 10: Mark May. Whenever Mark May attributes a substantial degree of a team's success to its offensive line, everyone takes one drink. Whenever Mark May says something and Lou Holtz replies, "That's a good point," everyone takes one drink. Whenever Mark May says something and Lou Holtz replies, "That's a good point," then goes on to disagree with Mark May's point, everyone takes two drinks. Whenever Mark May predicts that Georgia will lose its next football game, all Georgia fans present must finish their drinks."

I'm in no way defending these idiots...ESPECIALLY that Nebraska punk, Trev Alberts, BUT: did you ever consider that they have OSU losing to Texas IN Texas because:

    1) Ohio State typically starts sluggish (even if they do win, it's not always easy).

    2) OSU has lost a lot on Defense, and going INTO Austin against the defending champs EARLY will be tough. Not to say they can't beat the 'Horns, but their "D" will need to re-establish itself in a tough environment.

Besides, who really cares what these turkey's think? They are who they are, and we all know how they lean anyhow, so nothing they say should shock anyone.

You make some good points.... Don't know why I even listen... It is after all their own opinions and y'all know what they say about opinions.....

    On another note:

To my surprise, they actually picked OSU and USC in the championship game, when I was expecting it to be a Texas and USC rematch in the game!! Maybe they arent so bad afterall???? Sounds pretty smart to me... Championship game tonight.....

Lets face it. Most of the sports announcers (everyone employed by ESPN) gives no love to the Buckeyes. The are wrapped around USC, Texas and N.D that (to include Michigan) that when Ohio State or Iowa do win it is luck rather than skill.

I was suprised when they picked the Buckeyes #1.

Texas is not going to be a cake walk game, (I still believe that we should of beat them last year) but this year there should not no excuses.

Of course a Buckeye victory will mean that the excuse machine at espon will be that Texas had a young quarterback and that O.S.U. was lucky. They will pick Iowa or Mich St. ot beat the Bucks.

Look what happened after they won the National Title. They made Auburn #1 and they folded quicker than a tent in the wind.......

I am going with Ohio State and West Virginia in the National Title game. USC will Lose to CAL, Texas will lose to the Bucks and Neb. ND will lose to USC and Mich St. Mich will lose to Iowa.

I don't count florida or SEC teams because everyone knows they are heralded as the best conference that will always disapoint you.....

    Go Buckeyes - Go Tigers....
