As if there hadn't been enough turmoil...it goes to show you plain as day that stupid mistakes will get anyone busted.

Officer Minarcheck is the LAST officer anyone would want to get caught by...second to Bobby Grizzard.

Setting fires and for what? Lock em' up in a detention home or something of that nature!

According to an update in The Rep., four suspects are now in custody for the fire.

Also, (same source) seven teens are in custody for the rash of auto break-ins on the N. E. side of town. Kudos to Det. Ricker, etal., on heading that investigation.

The Massillon Police and Fire Departments deserve commendations for all of their efforts in the past two weeks.

casey,

The fact the teens are from Perry makes it all the sweeter for Massillon. This is exactly what Massillon salivates for......

section3,

Come on! You know you hate Perry! Don't even try to hide it because you know that you're salivating over this as well just like every other Massillon resident is!

Why...because there are no criminals in Massillon???

Double kudos to D. Ricker for the auto investigation!!! Both my and my husband's vehicles were ransacked badly. They attempted to steal my music system but couldn't get it out, haha! But just about everyone I know of within a large N.E. area has had their vehicles targeted within the last month or so.

Kamd50,

If they catch the persons...flog their asinine, stupid, sneaky, eradicated, selves red like they were in Singapore (remember Michael Fay...the young man who broke into cars over there)!

Keno, this was a very tacky and childish thing to say:sad:

Massillonians do not salivate at the thought of a criminal being from Perry or anywhere else for that matter. We are not talking about football or sports here. Big difference!

Kamd50,

I've heard a lot of things from you but this one gave me a lot of punishing laughter.

"This was a very tacky and childish thing to say "

There are still some people in your hometown that don't like Perry and you can attest to that.

Locations listed for three of the suspects were Perry, Canton and Massillon.

Keno, I don't know if it's just a bad joke, or you are just stirring the pot, but your timing is terrible.

Seriously man, I am a Massillon resident and Perry Graduate.
No one should "salivate" over crime commited by a person who happens to to attend the same high school of a sometimes football competitor.

Perry is NOT your enemy in a turf war.
this type of thinking only cultivated that kind of violent and vandal behavior. :bomb:

If we all started thinking that way, I'm sure Massillon kids would do things just as bad. Keep your competitive passions in the stadium!

You can salivate all you want when the Tigers trample Perry in a friendly game of football.

keno

if this is the impression you get from your circle of massillon friends of what massillonians are all about, please expand your circle or move into the city and interact with your neighbors and learn what true massillonians are all about!!

I don’t think that most of us here relish in the fact teenagers (or adults) are capable of this kind of thing. It doesn’t matter where they are from it is a sad, sad thing.

There is something about the crime of arson that is really very disturbing. Such a destructive thing to do that can also involve taking lives.

It is good that they caught them and, hopefully, get the punishment and they deserve for the crime, as well as the help they definitely need.

We have had problems with the kid that lives on Cornell N.E.

If we lived in a different time period, I would say, "CUT THEIR NUTS OFF".

Residency has no barring IMO.
If you do the crime you know what they say about the time.
There is not enough punishment that can be handed down to this bunch !
Arson has many consequences, put aside the destruction, there is the danger of killing someone or killing yourself.
Its good to know we have a great fire dept. I'd like to see them all safe and out of harms way of such a evil act.

Who cares where they are from, they are criminals and destroying someone's (or some family's) life? MUC was merely trying to be emphatic (I hope) about stressing that maybe some of those peole might not be from the area. Regardless of where they are from, they have jeopardized the lives of our courageous MPD, MFD, various departments, and our families. You go, guys and gals from all of our public service departments.

Here's hoping that the other seven (who broke into several cars) are held accountable for all of the havoc that they have created. If they are, they might need some serious guidance and I know that there are many of us on this forum who would be willing to help!!!

Would this kids initials be M.B.? I use to live on 9th st. N.E. just one block over from Cornell ave. About 2 years ago @ 2:30 a.m. we had some punk throw a hunk of concrete through our front window. I called 911 right away and MPD got to my house within 2 min. Long story short... the officer saw this M.B. person 10 minutes earlier @ corner of 9th and State St. and told him to get home. When the 911 call was dispatched the officer went right to this M.B.'s house on Cornell and saw him running into his house. We could never prove it but I know it had to be him.

Is this kid in trouble for breaking into cars or arson?

I know 2 of the boys. They are acquaintances of my daughter. To say I was shocked when I heard it was them is an understatement; my daughter was practically hysterical. In no way shape or form am I condoning their actions or saying they shouldn't get what's coming to them. They should. I never saw any reason to believe they were anything but nice kids until this. What in the world made them even contemplate this, I'll never know. I can only hope they've learned a valuable lesson and will never forget the pain they caused a lot of people, physical and mental, from firefighters to local residents who've lost a part of the town's heritage.

Bottom line, the teens made terrible decisions and must be held accountable for their actions and decision making.
