McKinley will be dangerous in the spread offense if they have an adequete QB to get the job done. Coach Johnson has a philosophy that NOONE plays both ways----on offense, defense, and even special teams to gain his players experience. IMHO----this gameplan will hurt if they do not have players like Jewone Snow, Derrick Gordan, etc,... playing both sides of the ball. However, the pups do have alot of young talent in the Fr. and soph classes.

In HS---I feel that if a player is good enough or earned the right to play both sides of the ball---PUT HIM ON THE FIELD!!! This philosphy hurt Massillon in the title game against St. X in the special teams.

I agree. I don't understand that at all. Your best players should be on the field as much as possible.

I wish Mike Currence shared your opinions.

Just curious, but what happens at the middle school levels? Do players go both ways or just offense/defense?

Our team had 2 lineman that only went one way. Everyone else played both ways.

I don't think that philosophy will fly with bulldog fans. They are used to their best players going both ways and have had much success. Doss, Peterson, Martin, Brinson, etc
Heck, even Iggy plays guys both ways. Kyle is no dummy

It's my understanding that Tom Cousineau only played one way at St. Ed's when Mike Currence was there.
