So I want to get a nostril pierced.
How much to for me to get ring in my nostril? Are there options to conceal it at work, while its still new? (clear/flesh colored plugs?) We have a strict dress code where I work (dang it).
Is there any social connotation with a right or left nostril piecing? Like maybe right-side is gay and left side is straight or something like that?
What's the name for that piercing that goes between your bottom lip and chin? I know there is a special name for it. Not just the lip piercing, but lower than that, so it looks like you have a silver spike or ball coming out of your chin? How much for one of those? And again are there ways to conceal it while it’s still new?

A nostril piercing with a ring is $30. Concealing a facial piercing is not an easy task, most of the retainers that are sold are not meant for everyday use as they are made of low quality acrylic their costs range from $5-$15 per piece. Your body will begin to break the acrylic down and possibly release harmful chemicals into your body. There are other options, such as invisiscrews which have a 316LVM ASTM F 138 stem and a dental acrylic half dome and their costs are $30. The only problem I have noted with this option is that sometimes the acrylic doesn't match the skin tone and will end up making the piercing as noticable as just wearing a small gemmed stud in the piercing. After a piercing is healed you can occassionally wear an acrylic retainer, but once again I do not reccommend everyday use.
You are speaking about a labret. The cost varies depending on the jewelry you select. With a plain steel ball the cost is $40, and if you would like a gem bezel set into the ball the cost goes up a bit to $50. If you would like gold, titanium, or niobium the cost goes up just depending on the cost of the jewelry which we would special order. As far as hiding the piercing refer to the previous paragraph as the information is the same. Thanks for your interest and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Sorry didn't see the question about the social connotation. As far as we know and are concerned those old stigmas don't really exsist anymore. I am sure you would still find certain groups that adhered to that old way of thinking, but amongst us it is really just a matter of aesthetics.

How long do I need to leave in the original ring or metal before it heals permanet? Perhaps I could get it at the begining of some vacation time to allow it to take? After that, how long can I leave it out before it heals shut? That being if I just decided to go-without during the work day?

The piercing takes about 6-9 weeks to fully heal, this can vary from person to person. Nostril piercings will close fairly fast with most people, but once again that can vary from person to person.

Aesthetics?
Are we talking here about one of those nose rings the kids wear that always seems to have a bead of snot dripping off it?
I'll give you aesthetics...

My Wife had her cartilage on her ear done... (On the top of the ear) It would all ways get infected so she removed it. It has been out for a good 5 years or more & she had this small hard lump were the hole is.

Something like that would run around $200/hr, I would expect something similar to take around 1 to 2hrs. We do give price breaks for multiple hours. It is important that you understand that I would remove those piercings for you before you left the studio, it is not something that would actually heal. If you are interested you are welcome to stop in or call 330-834-2781 and ask for Rob Church. Thanks

Sorry didn't notice that you had listed your question. It would be hard to say without seeing the piercing in person. There are also alot of factors, such as, was it pierced with a gun or hollow needle? What did she use to take care of it with? What style of jewelry was she wearing? What was the jewelry made of? Were there any outside influences that might have put pressure on the jewelry or surrounding tissue? Was their anything draining from the piercing when she took it out?
It might be easier if she stopped in, but if that is not an option you are welcome to contact me via massillon proud or call me at the shop 330-834-2781 ask for Rob Church.
