They did an additional little piece on the rally towards the end of the newscast tonight, that very neat too. I also thought that it was both very gracious and cool of Action 19 newscasters and reporters to wish Massillon good luck and to give information on where to vote as well as prompting their viewers to vote for us.
So to Action 19, I would like to say:thanx:
I also liked the comment by the ESPN audience prompter at the rally when she said that she had been to 20 of these things and that we really rocked her socks tonight:tig:

How ironic that the commercial leading in was "trash related" (Honda). Having said that, it was a great bit and it is sure something to be proud of. The atmosphere looked electric.

For maybe the first time since I left Massillon, I felt that I should have been there today.
For this one night , if we could have pulled off a " Mother of all Tailgates ", like the '05 Title game, it would have been WAY KEWL !!
It would not have made a difference, per say, but would have made an impact. When I saw the Valdosta people's segment, I laughed at the part where they thought they were tailgating.
We may not have invented the tailgate, we we sure as hell perfected it.
Our tailgates paled in comparison to NOBODY, at ANY level !! I don't know anyone that tailgates to NFL games , that ever did it better than we did.
I am WAY JACKED to see how ESPN puts this all together for a 5 minute segment.
The people of Massillon definately showed up tonight !!!
I get at LEAST a hundred people a week, from ALL parts of the WORLD, that ask me where I'm from.
And it sure makes me proud to tell them with force in my voice " About an hour south of Cleveland, at high school football MECCA, called MASSILLON , OHIO !!! "
You'd be AMAZED at how many people say, " I've heard about the Massillon Tigers"
I even had an older guy tell me that his city's claim to fame was a 7- 0 win over Massillon in the 1937 !! Talk about holding onto history. I asked where he was from, and he responded, " New Castle, PA ! ".
Sure enough , here's the '37 schedule !!

I was there. It sure made me feel proud to be from Massillon. I am always proud to be an ex-tiger player, but last night brought a reality to it. Like the slogan says "It's a Massillon thing, you wouldn't understand".

Why is it when people only ever mention the old days. We don't have two
current NFL players on Super Bowl contenders ohh wait we do. We currently have four players on BCS confrence college teams.
Shawn Crable OLB New England Patriots
Andy Alleman OG New Orleans Saints
Brian Gamble Illinois WR
Antonio James Illinois DE
Brett Huffman Duke TE
Andrew Dailey Penn St LB
Steve Schott Ball State K
Steve Yoder Ball State OL
Are McGuire and Scassaca still at Toledo? Sorry if I left anyone else out I hope I did that meaning we have another players in DI football.

I couldn't agree with this last part more!!! That's what I have to tell everyone up here in Cleveland at work. They wonder why I drive an hour up and an hour back everyday. I simply tell them I'm home, and not leaving!!!

there where over 500 people tailgating around the stadium at valdosta.they only showed one grill in the park across the street.the stadium parking lot was packed to the max.why they didnt include that instead is a mystery to me since the espn people where at the tailgate parties being taste samplers.

I too make that commute everyday. It's awful but I like being here and even if I lived up there I would probably be here half the time anyways.
