I went to the scrimmage today 7/21 I left at around 11 30. while I was there the partridge(sp) kid got all the QB snappes & looked realy good, good arm, found his targets most of the time & he throu a good ball. I will say that the receivers did not catch the ball very good but imho the partridge kid looked very sharp in the 7 on 7.

Aside from Turner and Clark, I have witnessed alot of dropped balls in the 7 on 7 scrimmages so far. That DOES concern me a bit.

Partridge also looked the best last year until it came time to hit. Hopefully, he got that out of his system because he does have some good talent. IMO, stacy should have played him more last year.

It was Louisville and another team, but not Jackson.

How did they look covering the leps recievers?
The dropped balls seem to be a carry over from last year. One of the main reasons they lost the Solon game.I will say the guy coaching the recievers this year had problems with kids hanging on to the ball when he was head coach here.Propably just a coincidence.
I remember St.x wasnt all that hot catching the ball either, but they still RAN the ball out of the shotgun quite a bit and that qb had a good arm that you had to respect.

Another thing I noticed that concered me was that, could just be from it being early is the safies seemed confused and out of place. The LBS looked good & organized, they seemed to know what to do & had good comunication. On offence I liked seeing all the motion & tripes formations. One formation had Clark in a down possition almost like a tight end, don't know what that was all. about.

Safety's shouldn't be standing still and should ALWAYS be moving around before the snap. We did this at Mount and it really confuses the O co-ordinator and doesn't give the QB a good read as to what the coverage is. Also, I would like to know what dropped passes had to deal with Coach Rose, seeing as he didn't coach them. Coach James coached the receivers when Rose was the HC. I don't think it will be a problem, but that is an issue when you have to QB's rotating. The ball coming out of a lefty's hand looks a lot different then that of a righty, but that shouldn't be an excuse if they practice. All in all, I think we're headed in the right direction, and lets remember that these kids are LEARNING a lot now, and when you are thinking about things, step by step, the natural abilities (simply catching the ball) will lack. Once they get the hang of everything during two a days, I think they'll be fine.

I read on another site that "Some of the Louisville recievers made JT look silly". I couldn't make this 7 on 7, did anyone notice this that was there? I read so many negative things on other sites about us it is hard to decide what is true. Louisville has a nice passing game, how did our secondary do against it?

I saw those posts also - JT look "silly" - give him a break - no one will make him look "silly".
