Remember what everyone went through to put Spielman on the Wheaties box? Everyone in Massillon did everything they could to make it happen, from driving miles upon miles to find Wheaties, buying cases at a time, and some even taking the box tops off the boxes right in the store. Everyone did what they had to do... and it worked.
There is absolutely no reason we can't win Titletown if we all do our part again! :tig:
Let's get this thread PACKED with replies! Tell us what YOU are doing to promote, decorate, and literally ram MASSILLON down the throats of everyone and anyone who visits TIGERTOWN! Let's paint this whole town orange and black! Hit every store, every door, and every single entrance to Massillon! Let NO ONE ASK, "are we in Massillon?". DO everything you can to get everyone you can at that rally on the 21st!

GO MASSILLON!

And just to give it a kick, I'll start...

Today I bought 15 yards of orange and black fabric, and orange, black, and white paint to make giant MASSILLON flags

I am awaiting final approval to repaint to paws at Wendy's downtown

and I've already made and distributed a load of flyers promoting the stadium rally on the 21st and voting on the ESPN website.

TIG! ERS!

Besides actually showing up for the rally, of course, a few things we can all do: get out your window flags for your vehicles and use them! if you don't have any, get yourselves down to one of our local sports stores and get one; also get out your Massillon flags and display them from your porches; email or call everyone you know and invite them to come along with you, make a day/night of it and go out afterwards for dinner or drinks; unlike the cold fall/winter months when everyone is bundled up in their coats and it is hard to create a sea of orange shirts, this will be the ideal time to do it!

Since there is no school in session right now, there can be no announcement for the general student population, so delegate your own kids, grandkids, neighborhood kids to spread the word to ALL Massillon students of ALL ages via their AIM's, Myspace, Facebook, etc. to SHOW UP!

It would also be awesome if the cheerleaders would have some kind of giveaways like they do at the school rallies; footballs, towels, w/e.

I also wonder if there will be some kind of big banner put up across Lincoln Way East like they do for McK week?

Does anyone have connections to Sportstuf or Howards to have orange t-shirts done in bulk? What a great way to promote as well. The front could say Massillon with an obie and the back say Titletown USA all in black. I know I would buy the whole family one! Plus what a great thing to have for years to come to remember this great honor for our town. Just an idea!

I say let's put together a tailgate before the rally to get everyone hyped up! I am so proud to be apart of the great community we call MASSILLON!

Howards has some great stuff but they have them lettered locally so time is tight on those.

I like the ones the team had on yesterday

as for SportsStuff contact Cindi there she always has tons of ORANGE tees in the back room

I've been spreading the word around everywhere I can up here in Parma. As well as where I work in Brunswick. I'm going to try and leave work early that day and come down.

Sweet GoTigers3796 !

I talked to a former Tiger today at work and he is going to spread the word to other former Tigers and see how many we can get to show up. I plan on writting a letter in the Inde and I really would like to get an Orange Out put together for the rally and paint the town as much Orange and Black as possible. We really MUST go all out for this. We have less than 10 days to get this put together and show the nation what Massillon and Tiger Spirit is all about. This is a great opertunity that MUST be seized. The only ones I know so far that we can count on for sure is the Village Idiots ! Can we count on you ? Given the small crowds in recent times is enough to give me great concern. Is Massillon going to step up and show what we are all about or chose what they think is more important or stay home and only support the Tigers when we are doing well or in the playoffs. Are people going to show up and come out ? The only people who have an excuse are the ill and the handicapped. If your not either I want to see you there. Its time to put up or shut up ! Go Tigers.

Very proud of my little tigers, while I was at work today they handed out 200 flyers at Wal Mart!

If anyone wants to join in, I can email you the template. All you have to do is print them out on orange paper which can be bought at Wal Mart for $3.99 for 125 sheets which makes 250 flyers.

Call to "On The Line" has been made and I have written to both the Inde and Repository. If there s anything else I can do to help. My turn to give something back. Time is running out. We HAVE to win this thing. The Tigers do their part on the field. I know some of you have played our dreamed of playing for the Tigers. It is now YOUR turn to give that same passion, and game day performance the Tigers do on the field into winning this contest. So.......Are you ready? How much of a Tiger are you really? This your turn to prove it. Go Tigers !

Ok, here's the rundown...

420 flyers gone!
-80 saved and will be handed out at this weeks parent/player meeting with the football coaches from MMS.
-only a few people turned them down, only two found floating around the parking lot (Wal Mart) and a few left in carts by people we handed them to, which is cool too cause people who get the carts will read them!

I also called On The Line yesterday afternoon.

Called and asked for all midget league football players at the Boys Club of Massillon to be asked to come to the rally.

Called the head soccer coach at MMS and asked for thier teams to be present also.

Still have not heard back from Wendy's Marketing Director about the paws...
Thier loss if ESPN looks for the Paws and they're not there to be filmed.

And last but not least, emails, text messages, etc sent to everyone I know.

I am debating with the people of Pittsburgh that Massillon is where "Title Town USA" should be. It is hard to convince another city in the same contest that we are better than them. If I did live in Massillon I would paint everything from my grass to my dog orange and black. But I don't live there so sorry. But me and my daughter will be there for the rally. I do have to say there is some stiff competition. But nothing that Massillon can't top! Good luck Massillon!! I'll be supporting my high school and my favorite town.

The older kids have started a "group" (similar to what a "thread" is on here) on Facebook inviting people to join in to support Massillon for TitleTown, also.
Had some of the students posting the rally info on their AIM's as well encouraging their peers to attend.
