Orrville? I hope the Red Riders are bringing back the great Mo Tipton to coach one more game. What a classic he was. Heck, I don't even know if the big man is still alive.

i attended the 7 on 7's today, and not to get to excited about this but ill tell you what, our boys were playing hard, really on defense. i got pretty chippy at times as one coach from orrville asked coach hall to calm our guys down! they were knocking there kids on the ground and well, it was supposed to be 2-hand touch.
the most important thing i saw was they looked to be playing together as a team. a lot of high fives and all that. like i said not to get to excited but it looked good.

Thanks for the update. I understand the caution in your post especially after all of last years promises and then the subsequent chaos and lack of leadership. Sounds like Coach Hall has the team headed in the right direction.

I agree with the being cautiously optimistic attitude. Having said that, I heard that Massillon, both teams, basically killed all these other teams; scoring lots of touchdowns and quite a few interceptions on the part of the JV squad. I'm told that QB's on both squads did very well.

Tigers get work in during 7-on-7
http://www.indeonline.com/sports/x1743991482/Tigers-get-work-in-during-7-on-7
excerpt:
" If there’s one thing has pleased the coach more than anything, it’s how his squad has come together so early in the offseason.
“I’m really proud of our kids,” Hall said. “They’re really working hard together and we’ve really stressed team, that word team. I told them that we’re going to sweat, bleed and cry together and that’s how it’s got to be. That’s just the nature of the beast in football.
“But when you have kids that play together when adversity hits, they’re able to handle it. If they’re not going to play as a team, then they’re not going to handle adversity well. I’ve been really proud of our kids and they’re really working hard.”

I have to agree with TigerFlame. It is early and there were some mistakes, but nothing that I saw that couldn't be easily fixed. I loved the intensity that they showed throughout. I would have liked to have heard them communicate on the field a little better (DB's yelling "in in in" "out out out" so that the rest of the Defense know's what's coming). All in all, it is very early, they are all learning a new offense/coaching style. I love hearing Coach Hall talk about Team and Adversity, takes me back to his and my Defensive Coordinator at Mt. Union. His words were always "Without Adversity, there is no growth" and "We are ONE defense, there are no individuals. If you can be the only one on the field and don't need your 10 brothers, then you don't belong here." I think the program will be turned around under Coach Hall. :tig:

The orange team played with alot more intensity then the white team and I hope that the white team picks it up. GO TIGERS

I think, and I could be wrong as I don't know many of the kids playing, that the orange team had the stronger DB's/WR's and the white team had the stronger LB's. QB's alternated and Orange team had JT, Kyle Allman, Cooper Ivan, and Bo Grunder, and at TE they had Brandon Pedro. White team had Brian Arlet (sp?) and Matt Rose at LB, and seemed to have some younger DB's. Again I may be wrong and probably am, but that is what it seemed like to me which would explain why they had more intensity.

Want to add one other thing, Clark looked good lining up at slot wr. So athletic, and it will be a nice trick play for him to throw at any time. I still think he has as good a chance as anyone to start at QB, but I like seeing his athleticism on display!

Mo is still very much alive.....lives on the outskirts of Orrville.
Good to hear D1 Massillon got physical with D4 Orrville.

We better get physical with everybody, regardless of division. All D1 vs D4 that differs is size of enrollment, not size of players. Trust me, Orrville wasn't that much smaller then Massillon. Don't play down to your opponents, I'm glad they played tough, and they didn't just do it with Orrville. Can't take it, don't come.

Damn right it's good to hear...It's time to send the message early...you come to Massillon you're going home hurtin and not wantin to come back...I don't care if it's 7 on 7 or 11 on 11 Div 4 doesn't matter...football is football
We need to get back to the days when teams knew when they stepped on the field with the Tigers they were already down 7 points...It's all attitude and coach Hall has the right attitude I believe to get the job done.

i really liked the way turner was getting real physical with all of the recievers! i agree as well its about time we set the tone this early!
i thought that partridge looked the best at qb but the others did well also!
build off of this and keep up the intensity!
a side note, i saw some huge lineman on our team. hopefully they will come together better than the last few years. only one looked over 300 pounds but he is also 6'4 or so. 4 or 5 of them looked at least 6'2.

Was this totally voluntary on the kids' parts, and .....................would it not be beneficial to a kid that wants to impress a college, to partake in this competiton ???
