DId anyone else see the fireworks in Orrville on Saturday night? They had two fake grand finales then they had one of the biggest grand finales I have ever witnessed in person. The fireworks were loud and awesome and lasted a long time.

However, after that fireworks it got me thinking. The town of Orrville is a lot smaller size then Massillon yet why year in and year out they put together a fireworks show 20 times better then ours? There is no reason that Massillon could not put together just as good as show if not better then theirs. If I was massillon I would ask Orrville who they use and how they raise their money and go from there. It is amazing see all the people in Orrville just to watch the fireworks.

Maybe Smuckers have a little input with the firework show over there. They'er beginning to take over all the jelly companies, plus getting into the coffee biz. I'm surprise that Orrville isn't changed to Smuckerville.

Even so, if you just passed around something at the first Car show every year and the fourth show from the previous year, just think how much money could be raised? If every person in Massillon just chipped in 1 dollar you would raise close to $30,000. I know that it is unrealistic for every person in Massillon to donate a buck but then you also have to factor in all of the people who come in from out of town to these events. Massillon needs to get a clue, on the fourth it is loosing business to places like Wooster or Orrville or Akron because people know they have a lot more to offer there and will see a fireworks show that is 3 times better then Massillons.

According to the letter in today's Inde, the last time they passed the bucket a whopping $13 was collected.
