View Full Version : FSN-OHIO
Just wanted to say that I thought the broadcast/crew FSN-OHIO did a pretty good job. They gave props to both teams and were neutral. They talked up both teams and I thought really put Massillon in a good light. They had interviews with the players, talked about the great fan support of Massillon and I think did a Great Job.

well i didnt like all the TV timeouts--- i think it hurt us.
No complaints about the broadcast crew. I do question since this was a tape delayed game why all of the time-outs for commercials? I would think the prerecorded commercials could be inserted where appropriate during the rebroadcast.

From the stands, this was one of the most annoying games to watch. There was never any flow. We get the ball and that fat guy waddles out onto the field and there we stand for 5 minutes waiting. Very annoying for a high school game.

I did not stay up to watch the replay from FSN, however I am mad how they would not play it live. I looked on their website and it seems that all the other games are live at the regular time, why wasn't Massillon's? My grandpa had a major surgery a week ago and he was looking forward to watching the game since he can't come to one. It upset me as well as him he could not watch his hometown team. Hopefully he can watch the McKinley game if it will be live.

I agree. That makes absolutely no sense to me. Even more to the point, I think that TV timeouts not only diminish the game for those who are in the stands, but they affect the flow (and possibly the outcome) as well.

they held up the games start for about 10-12 minutes. i am pretty sure they were having official orientation and going over the rule book. There was so much confussion during that game that it looked like it could have been officiated by monkeys.

On the radio, they said the delay to start the game was due to the "Senior Night" activities on the field.
TV timeouts for a taped game is ridiculous. But I'm still convinced that the OHSAA rule against live Friday night games is a good one.

That would have required an employee there to insert the the commericals. This way they saved a few dollars buy doing it as the game went along and simply running the tape at 11:30

i wonder where they were holding Senior Night? Maybe Senior citizens night, but there was nothing going on the field.

I think they were introducing the parents & players before the game, but were done well before kick-off. I agree about the flow of the game. It was very frustrating to watch. Our guys would go out on the field and them have to go back to the sidelines for commercials. Very bad for continuity!

They should have done it that way. It's "Broadcast 101."

After our two performances on FSN this season, how could you NOT view the glass as half empty? Neither performance was very inspiring.

at least your game was televised, I doubt they will ever show any of us in the Northwest section, I think that would be a big hoot for our team and community, maybe we'll see you in the playoffs and get on tv that way:gogogo:

We have TV time outs for the Massillon / Mck game, and I dont think it is a problem.

This is true BUT anyone who was at the Mentor game will tell you that the timeouts they had were much longer then the ones during the Mckinley game, a few times it was getting to the point of 4-5 minutes. I know both teams had to adjust to it but since the game was not televised live then there is no sense in having TV timeouts and the delay at the beginning of the game.

yeah your right that would be a tragedy I mean this curse might be as bad as the state title one or even worse what if the start carrying the state title game? Thats like two curses rolled into one!
idk maybe then they will offset each other!
