I'm surprised no one has mentioned terry bradshaw's comments about the wide use of steroids back in the steeler's dynasty era.

I don't think it's a big deal. Steroids were not illegal back then, and besides, they weren't taking them to get big & strong and improve performance. As Terry Bradshaw said, his intention back then was to heal up from injuries faster and get back on the field.

Athletes back then would panic if they were hurt because that meant someone would be taking their job, and eventually their paychecks. They didn't make the millions of dollars that today's athlete's make, and they didn't sit out for weeks with a bruise or sore muscle. Their job meant more to them than it does now.

Those are the same reasons that pitchers in baseball were taking HGH and steroids. To heal or recover faster.

This is a great post and one of the reason's that I don't watch pro sports that much. If you take their salaries down to around 70K/year, I bet we would have much better role models, people who played because they LOVE the game, and people playing hard all year. Only reason I say 70K is because the owners make so much off tickets, that the players should get a fair amount. I would really like to see them make around 40K since they are only working half of the year and make supplimental incomes based off camps and such that they could run.

Bradshaw and the Steroid curtain deserve an asterisk just like Beroid and Bilicheat.

Tiger2001,

You didn't say that when Pittsburgh broke other players bones in the 70's! You really enjoy being my nemesis, don't you?

And that's the "Steel Curtain!"

Gosh I can't wait till September 14, 2008. I'll see you and your Browns soon! As the opening lyrics to Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight" goes: "I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh lord."

Your Browns are in serious trouble! You watch!!

Big difference. New England CHEATED, and steroids were legal and EVERYONE used them in the 70's.

Too bad they didn't/haven't/won't help the Browns !!!

PS. Thinkin' about getting my dog one of those Brown's rugs. He needs something to lay on, when he's licking his privates.

Get over it! It is what it is. They were not illegal back then, everyone used them.
