I was wondering how many posters on here will be going to the Reynoldsburg scrimage. With the price of gas being so high will some people stay home. Comments please as we kick off the new season. GO TIGERS

The distance one way from Massillon to Reynoldsburg is 125 miles, so it will be 250 miles for the round trip. This will give you a idea how much it will cost depending on the gas milage you get. GO TIGERS

If it were a game gas price wouldnt be an issue.......even if gas were free I doubt I would go 250 mile round trip to watch something pretty close to practice.....

No such flight exists. I used to 'manage' a local travel agency, at least that's what I called it, and there is no 'puddle jumper' from CAK to CMH.

You would have to lay over in Chicago ( O'Hare, ORD ), or Detroit , ( DTW ) to make this trip happen. What a waste. The lowest price I see is $ 548.00 !!

Well with Kenny and Tiger Flame being at the scrimage, there will be at least 2 tiger fans there. We had a pretty good number of tiger fans at the Fremont scrimages and they were about the same distance. This also gives you a chance to see how the Tigers are looking going into the opening game. Fan following seems to be getting less and less with each season. GO TIGERS

I will be there cause I just moved to columbus, and this will be the one game that I won't have to drive 250 miles to see. Does anyone know if this game will be in the day or at night?

Not true. "Air Donna" aka Mrs. Al. has been pilot in command for numerous flights from CAK to C-bus and landed at OSU's Don Scott field.

With all due respect to the good folks of Reynoldsburg, their stadium is a dump. I'm really sorry that the Tigers and our Little Giants are not scrimmaging again this year. I would have gladly driven to Massillon to see it. Better yet, a regular season game would work too.

With only a few people going to the scrimage,Reynoldsburg will think they are playing Canton McKinley. GO TIGERS

I would much rather make the longer trip to play the little giants than go to reynoldsburg.

I will admit Al, ............. at my 'going away party', that was the quietest I'd ever seen Donna !!! :poke:

All joking aside, God was definately the co-pilot for those ladies that fateful day. I'll bet she looks at life just a little differently these days.

Isn't the Tiger Spring Kickoff scheduled for Friday August 15th at the Amvets? Neither may have a good turnout if they're on the same day.

Yeah, that is what I'm confused about; I thought GlenOak was replacing Ross, and I could certainly understand. But Reynoldsburg?

Thats what I thought...

Also, Fremont and Reynoldsburg are the exact distances away, plus not to mention the Dump of a Stadium Reynoldsburg has...

Seeing as I live in Pickerington, about 2 miles from Reynoldsburg's stadium, I'm going to be there! I'll see if I can scrounge up some of my other WHS Class of '99ers from the Columbus area to come with...

...Drawing an analogy to a family needing a larger house, Lewis said the timing just felt right. All loose ends should be tied up by Aug. 15, when gridiron king Massillon Washington sweeps into town for a scrimmage....

According to Reynoldsburg's football calendar for August, the scrimmage starts at 7pm - http://www.leaguelineup.com/calendar.asp?url=rfpa&sid=437663303

My son plays for the Dublin Jerome football team and we're scheduled to open with Reynoldsburg at Reynoldsburg on August 22nd.

I was talking to the Dublin Jerome AD yesterday and he said there was a very good chance our game with them will be moved to Dublin as our home game due to the fact that there stadium improvements may not be completed in time. I mentioned Massillon was due to scrimmage at Reynoldsburg the week before and he said in talking to the Reynoldsburg AD that, more than likely, was going to be switched to Massillon.

I thought this seemed like a pretty reliable source. If this is old news already, I apologize, I didn't see it mentioned anywhere on the site though.

I really need to know what's going on with this scrimmage. I don't want to drive all the way to Reynoldsburg just to find out it's been moved to Massillon. I'll keep watching the Independent, but if anyone can share any facts regarding the scrimmage location, that would be great. Thanks.

I know its a great thing for Massillon residents to have the scrimmage moved to Massillon. However, being that I drive the 112 miles all the time to Tiger Stadium for games it would be a relief to drive 15-20 minutes to see the Tigers!

I plan on taking my 8th grade football team to see the TIgers here in C-bus so PLEASE have the the Reynoldsburg stadium complete for this event!

Kenny M.

Gosh, I hope they don't cancel the whole thing. If Reynoldsburg's stadium isn't complete, can they hold the scrimmage at another nearby field? I hope they keep us all in the loop on this. Sometimes, the Independent has incorrect locations/directions, etc., so I may reconfirm the location with someone at either of the schools.

From a poster over at JJHuddle on a thread concerning Reynoldsburg:

"I believe they travel to Troy and it looks like at this point they will have to travel to Massilon Washington (who was supposed to come to reynoldsburg but the field isn't ready)."

Maybe we can play it at Mansfield's stadium(lol).

From Today's Inde:

Reynoldsburg update

The Tigers are scheduled to hold their final preseason scrimmages on Friday, Aug. 15 at Reynoldsburg, just outside of Columbus. However, there have been issues surrounding renovation work on Reynoldsburg’s stadium, issues which have led to talk about the scrimmage being moved to Massillon.
Hall said Tuesday he was operating under the assumption the Tigers would still be making the journey to the Columbus suburb.
“I haven’t heard anything at this point,” he said. “It would probably be determined on Monday or Tuesday. I don’t know the status. A week ago, they said it was going to be at their place. Right now, we’re ready. The busses are ordered to go down there. At this time, the (junior varsity) will start at 6 o’clock.”
