The officer wsn't "blind-sided". He and his partner confronted the suspect, that they've had several non violent run-ins with, and were surprised that he picked up and actually swung the bat.

The second officer 'tazed', (don't taze me bro, ) the suspect, but it had little effect. The suspect was actually hit by a car running from the store, which made his apprehension a little easier. Should have shot him in the garage. An officer's life is hanging in loom.

this is terrible....just give up....petty theft he would have been charged with....reminds me of the kent incident a couple of months ago....my father is a canton police officer and my heart goes out to officer clark, as this could have been my father.....please pray for the officer.....
