If you follow this link I have some pics from camp on my webpage. He looks good in that winged helmet....I've also heard some of the Michigan sportswriters talk about the Massillon to Michigan Pipeline.

The only helmet that I’m interested in seeing Justin wearing is white with an orange and black leaping Tiger on both sides!
GO TIGERS!

About 99% percent of the kids at the camp had there High school helmets on. I'm assuming our's are not in yet, hence the reason he wore a Michigan one. In all the articles I have read so far he's been the main attraction at camp.

More Pics from day 2. Turner did not take part in drills in the morning session. This is from thewolverine.com
"Justin Turner didn't work out in the morning, but was again in action in the afternoon. Still working at cornerback. I actually thought he did better today than yesterday. My biggest question about him playing that position is his size. You just don't see many CBs that are that big."

attached is the picture of Scott Schafer w/ JT (RR hired him as the D-Coordinator from Stanford) that I incorrectly predicted would be the Northern Illinois coach replacing Joe Novak earlier this year (he turned it down).
Watch this guy, he's one of the top young coaches in the nation, future Big Ten Head Coach.

And he's from my hometown of Painesville too! Good kid, good family. Oddly I know one of the defensive coaches from Northern Illinois that coached under Novak and was one of only a couple that were kept. He's also from Lake county. (Perry) Painesville had another coach a long time ago, his name is slipping me for now.... Oh yeah, Don Shula

JT will make an immediate impact on the UM team in 2009 but right now he has some unfinished business in TIGERTOWN for 2008 to take care of first.
JT does look good in the maize and blue however---- at corner Massillon Catholic like I told you before. Colleges do not have 6'3" corners because not many can cover as well as JT. DO not be surprised if he plays some offense at UM as well. Remember how Charles Woodson was used---similar skills!

Monte: If you recall, I said he should play safety at high school level and corner in college. If he plays corner in high school the offenses will just use the other 2/3's of the field, as happened with Dailey. Playing him at safety allows him to use his vision and speed to make plays all over the field. Safety also allows his to see the entire field during the play where at corner his back can be turned. At safety he can also be prevented from using unnecessary energy on covering guys running deep posts in an attempt to where him down thereby making him less effective on offense. In any event, I expect he will do great things this year and in college.

MC----I was just messing with you buddy! Anyway, wheres that jersey you promised. It looks like you gave it to TIger Rags because its in the window.
JT would be special at safety in HS or college. If we have corners in the Massillon program to play corner than play him at safety for the good of the team. RR and the UM staff worked him out at corner because that is the position he currently plays. Traditionally UM is a defensive and Oline minded camp anyway.
I just want to see him touch the ball more than 30 times in a season!!

HE WAS THE TOP PERFORMER AT THE RICH ROD CAMP...FROM THE FRONT PAGE OF THEWOLVERINE.COM TODAY
Justin Turner, defensive back
Massillon (Ohio) Washington
Evaluation: The only question left to answer about Michigan commitment Justin Turner was whether he was a cornerback or a safety at the college level. Turner's camp performance delivered the response and the answer was "Yes!" Listed at 6-2 and 190 pounds, Turner looked all of that and more. Yet, his hip turn, coverage ability, speed and ball skills showed that even at his size he has the ability to match up one-on-one with defenders. We had high expectations for Turner this week at camp and he exceeded them.
