Actually we have more than one. At the high school we have 2 teams, Boys and Girls, coached by Tony Volpe and Meghan Young. The Middle School joined a traveling league last fall (Greater Stark County Amateur Soccer League) and currently has 4 teams, all co-ed with 2 teams playing U12 and 2 teams playing U14. The "U" is for "under". One of the U12 teams won the league championship in their division. These teams were started to not only instill interest in the game but to be a feeder system for the high school.

There is a Massillon soccer player working out with the team. He's going to do the kicking this year.

I just hope he loves football too. Because just being a soccer player isn't all it takes.

Don't worry - he loves football. Played it when he was younger, grew up here. He's a good kid!

I've been told that there is also a soccer player who will be doing the kicking for the JV squad, by the name of Yager.

It's Jeremy Geir(?) for V, and Jake Yager for JV, or so I'm told (both soccer players):thumbsup:

thank god for the soccer team huh? i've been trying to learn soccer style kicking the past few weeks it's a hard thing to master.
