View Full Version : Scott McClellan

Since our conservative friends here on Massillon Proud have conveniently avoided the subject, I'll bring it up.

So, Scott McClellan, former press secretary for Bush, has written a tell-all book. Mr. McClellan tells us that President Bush misled the nation into war in Iraq. No, is he joking! Mr. McClellan also reveals that Karl Rove and "Scooter" Libby lied about leaking the name of a CIA operative. Shocking, this can't be true!

What is interesting about the book is how McClellan's former colleagues have reacted to it. Dana Perino, who has McClellan's old job, said, "... It is sad. This is not the Scott we knew." She is right. The old Scott was a willing participant in a conspiracy of deception that gave us the tragedy that is Iraq. The new Scott sees that action as the "strategic blunder" that it is. The old Scott was loyal to his boss. The new Scott is not.

Others say that "he was disgruntled. He never complained before. He is making money. His publisher influenced him. His publisher wrote it. George Soros used the same publisher." Not once did they say that he lied, exaggerated, distorted, manipulated the facts or was in any way wrong. Even more shameful, conservative talk-show hosts proved once again that they all were recipients of the White House's talking points and had no hesitation in repeating them.

My question is this: Is it virtuous to be loyal to a lie? Given all the damage done to our nation by Bush/Cheney deceptions, why is there only one co-conspirator who actually feels remorse? And why are there so many Americans (although fewer and fewer everyday) who still support the most despicable President in US history? We can't have another President who supports decades of additional presence in Iraq and we can't have another president who will continue the Bush policies for our country. Ms. Perino is right: It is sad.

Why don't you add the additional fact of last week's Senate Intelligence Committe Report, which adds further proof that Bush/Cheney and company "intentionally misled" (i.e., lied) the country into war. There is so much evidence against the Bushies it's unbelievable. Disgusting!

NO, I believe he should be given a medal for courage. The only people who have committed treason are the ones who lied to the american people and have caused so much damage to us, both domestically and abroad. Anyone who feels that telling the truth is treason is really screwed up.

A very objective report in a political year. Read it and find it's a bunch of Democrat BS.

Let's have more facts rather than innuendos.

Exactly! Scott M? Wasn't he fired from the White House? I find it odd that he had all these issues with what was going on at the time, but never, by his own admission, verbalized his disagreement. In fact, before he was elevated into his last position, he would not have been present for converations he described, because he was an assistant, who are not invited to the meetings. Surely our liberal friends can think through the fact that it seems odd that he kept silent all this time, even when it was his job to NOT keep silent, and waited to write a book during a presidential election year, for a hefty advance and much publicity. "Tell All" books from White House staffers are nothing new. What is new, is that usually the books are written after the president leaves office. Silly liberals, Bush isn't running for a third term.

Do you really believe what you are saying. I swear I've heard these lines already on Fox News. Did you tape record this stuff or is your memory that good. C'mon guys. So you think Bush would have said "Oh Scott, thanks buddy. I'm so glad you brought this to my attention. If it wasn't for your courage to verbalize your concerns, who knows what might have happened in Iraq. Thanks again for helping to stop all this nonsense of invading Iraq." Geez!

Briefly, the answer is George Soros. He's the guy who pushed B. Hussein Obama to his current position. He controls the company that published the book. "Hey, Scott you wanna make some real money? Oh yeah, we got a guy that'll write it for you, just give our writer a few ideas. He'll take a little "poetic license", but for a few mill you don't mind, right?"

Soros also pushed the most liberal Republican Senator into the nomination. The fix really is in, no exageration.

And these people would be BOTH the Republicans AND the Democrats. When will this entire country WAKE THE F UP. These damn politicians have us split apart more than during the Civil War. Instead of Black and White, now it's Red and Blue.

Sorry, we conservatives think for ourselves. We do not need the liberal media to filter our news and focus our views for us. Given your comment about what Scott M should have said to Bush, it is obvious you do not understand the scope and purpose of senior staff to the president. It is not about agreement, it is about having the responsibility to share your views with the president. That is expected, not a "if I feel like it". It is called telling truth to power. However, it is much safer to make millions on a book and become a darling to liberals like you who think only their views are correct.

Gosh, I didn't mean to strike a nerve. A tip, truth doesn't come from just what you think in your head or what the liberal blogs tell you it is. It is still OK to think for yourself, at least it is in my party.
