You mean to tell me if you smoke,and you're traveling by air and have a layover at an airport that's not in your state,and you're out of smokes and buy a pack at the airport newsstand,when you return to your home state with them you can be fined? God help us all.

That you can do.

However, you can NOT sit in the confines of your OHIO living room , and order smokes on the phone from ANOTHER state, have them shipped to you, then smoke them in same living room !!

no. this whole ordeal stems from people buying out of state to avoid paying taxes on the cigarettes.

if you have a layover at an airport that's not in your state and you buy cigarettes, then return home with them you won't be in trouble b/c you paid tax on them at the airport.

This is more directed towards people who order smokes over the internet and avoid taxes. There is a guy up in Cleveland that owes something like $9000 in taxes because he ordered so much. The government forces these sellers to report the names of their customers.:pimp:
