Lakers in 4.
Celtics took 7 games to go thru the Hawks, 7 to get past the Cav's (if Cav's had another star player they wouldn't have got by them), and 6 to retire the Pistons. That had to take alot out of them.
The Lakers have Kobe (Mr. MVP) and with Phil Jackson as coach....
BTW has Jackson ever had a team lose in the Finals?

Lakers in 6. To answer your question phil jackson is 9-1 in the NBA finals with the one defeat coming to the pistons in 04.

Boston jumps out to a 1-0 series lead ! Entered the game as a 3 point favorite , and win by double digits. Now, for Sunday's game , they are only favored by 2 points.

Forgot to post it yesterday but I'm taking the C's in 6. Wondering where Monte is after his boy's 9-26 shooting night. See, they play defense in the East, and that is why LBJ shot so poorly. 34.6% from the field is hardly MVP material. And he only scored 4 pts in the 4th quarter. Pierce being injured could hurt the C's though.

Mass6,
Let's keep in mind that the last three Eastern Conference champions Chicago (1998), Detroit (2004), and Miami (2006) all played defense! And Boston is no exception to your approach.
Plus when you have the #1 toughest arena in the NBA in TD Banknorth Garden, that helps too.

LA has been off for more than a week. Last night's loss was just knocking the rust off. I see the Lakers getting a split Sunday and then winning 3 straight in LA. Boston doesn't play very well on the road.

TigerCoach,
Los Angeles has lost only two games in the playoffs when they are leading in the fourth quarter. They are the best fourth quarter team in the NBA...so we'll see what happens!

Knocking the rust off??? Come on, Boston played one more game then LA the last round. I think Boston may be in trouble with Pierce being out, but they have already played 5 more games then LA this post season. If anything, Boston should be falling off more then LA (fatigue). I think this series is going to be very close and see Boston pulling it off, based on the fact that they've played in the tight games this post season and did what they had to do to win.

i was thinking the same thing. i remember when monte said:
Kobe would not have shot 30 nothing percent against Boston
as i pointed out to monte then, kobe shot a whopping 33% against boston during the two regular season games.
i guess kobe would shoot "30 nothing percent" against boston.

Same as it did before. Trust me, I told my buddy driving up to work that the C's would win in 6 yesterday, to which he responded "No way, LA in 5." I was a little upset that I forgot to post that, just because I'm sick of all the West coast teams thinking they are better then they really are.

That's what I mean about knocking the rust off. The Lakers have played 3 short series and have been sitting around shooting foul shots for over a week. The Celtics have had to play tough games all the way to The Finals. The Lakers will still win this series in 5.

Are you serious???? Lakers finished the Spurs off on Thursday May 29th. Celtics finished the Pistons off on Friday May 30th. What is the difference??? One day put's that much "rust" on you??? So they have had to play a tougher schedule in the playoffs, that doesn't change the fact that they have only had a difference of 1 day less off then LA. If they are shooting foul shots all week, knowing already who they are playing, then they will not win in 5. As far as the "road-woes", the C's won 2 out of 3 in Detroit, so it may just be the fact that they took Atl for granted, played the 2nd best team (during the playoffs, that's why they took the C's to 7 and the Pistons got sent home in 6) in the East in the 2nd round, and then finished off Detroit.

I have not went anywhere!!! EVERYONE on this site that knows me figured out that something had to going on with me to be gone for 2 weeks. I was in the hospital battling staff infection(I feel like Braylan Edwards because this stuff wont go away!) I have never ran from NOTHING--this just internet fun!
Boston won game 1 in Boston which was expected. Kobe made NO EXCUSES and I will not either. LA will bounce back. Boston needs both games at home because they stink on the road---if LA steals Game 2 Boston is in trouble.
Kobe missed some shots he normally makes, Boston played great defense, and they won!
However, LA in 6 is my perdiction!!

Lakers blow a 24 point lead to LOSE at home. WOW !!!! LA has NO chance at a Title this year. Once again, the 'one man show' isn't enough.
Boston will close out at the Garden. :no1:

Oh man let the Kobe vs Lebron, Kobe cant win without shaq, Kobe cant carry a team stuff begin....LOL.
One thing I have realized is that although Kobe has a good supporting cast it seems they are not good enough......Scary to think about what you actually need to win it all.........I use to think the Cavs were a player away but now I dont know......

Just like to get em going!!! I think Boston plays some great Defense and this proves what Monte said wouldn't happen. I think the Cavs are a player away, seeing as they have given Boston their best competition yet. Yes Atlanta took them to 7 games, but all games in Boston were basically blowouts. The cavs should have won game 1 and could have won game 7 (great game by both teams!). I still think they are one good player away, ie see Boston 2008 (since I think Boobie/West are as good as 1 Ray Allen).

The Los Angeles Lakers are sick and wounded, there isn't a question about that. They are going to melt down like they did against Mike Babcock's (NHL's Red Wings head coach) city of employment in the 2004 NBA Finals!
They melted down against Detroit four years ago, I'd expect no less.

I didnt think Boston was going to play up the Lakers like this.
Makes sense if you think about it though. Lebron was having trouble scoring just like Kobe is.
I was dead wrong on this one. The mamba had me fooled.

Won't happen. TD Banknorth Garden is the #1 toughest place to play in the NBA. And Doc Rivers has NEVER lost a game there when Boston leads by +10 or more!

The Los Angeles Lakers were exposed for what they were: a soft bunch. Boston proved it! THEY PROVED IT!! Not only did they have the bigger heart, they had the tougher basketball team!!! It was about them!!!!
No one couldn't break them!

I wonder if it would have been in 5 games if they went with the 2-2-1-1-1 format instead of the 2-3-2.
