excerpt:Hall has remained upbeat about the progress the players are making in the offseason program. He has raved about the enthusiasm shown by the players, something he can trace to a number of different factors.
“Obviously a new coach, a little different style,” Hall said last week. “They’re picking up on it. I think that from one standpoint, the kids know they have a fresh start. Anytime there is a new situation, there is a fresh start. Just like in any situation, it should be a competition for position all summer long, and that’s what we’re looking for.”
The new coach is anxious to see how the work in the weight room translates over to the practice field.
“Make no bones about it, we’re going to put our kids on the field and try to find as many of them as we can to get them on the field,” Hall said. “The kids understand that, I think they’re looking forward to that, and so is the staff.”

Included in the same article was this tid bit "Teams are only permitted seven camp days during the summer months, which does not include weight lifting. The camp days were reduced from seven to 10 in the past five years in order to push back the start of two-a-days to an earlier date so teams could have a chance to schedule two scrimmages."
So much for checking your work before it is published

In another thread, Monte asked when practices were for WHS and the MMS. To not go any further off topic in the coaching staff thread, I am posting an answer, in part, here.
Practices for the highschool are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, starting bright and early at 7 a.m. sharp!
Lifting: Monday = Board Bench & Box Squat
Wednesday = Hang Clean & Squats
Friday = Bench Press
Followed up everyday by : 5 agility stations
1- 800, 3-200's, 4 striders,
4 sprints, 4-10 yard sprints
Followed up with team offense and team defense
It's kicking their butts, so Coach Hall must be doing a good job so far:tig:

That certainly is encouraging news and is exactly what training to become a Massillon Tiger SHOULD be! :weightlift:

It was very good to hear that Andy Alleman spent a little of his valuable time today with our Tigers. Most often heard word, "HUGE" LOL:thanx:Andy!

This is something that I hope Hall works really hard at...getting former Tigers who have gone on to success at higher levels of football to come back and interact with the kids.
It is something that Tressel has done in Columbus, and it has been a big positive.

I second that Kamd50. Its really awsome when former Tigers remember thier roots and come back and speak to the current Tigers. Again thanks ALOT Andy. Your a class act.
