Why? He can't help that Billups got hurt and Rasheed was off his game.

I guess it has something to do with him not liking Dennis Miller....

There seems to be alot of quality head coaches out of work in the NBA. Does anyone else think that Mike Brown is NOT the coach the Cavs need to win a championship? His offensive schemes are terrible at best.

he got outcoached by mike brown last year in the playoff series. that right there is grounds for terminating him.

That team should have won many more titles than it did.

I had a premonition something like this was coming. Anyone remember Rick Carlisle, who won two Central Division titles to go with 50-win seasons only to get canned after the Pistons were swept by New Jersey in the 2003 Eastern Conference Finals.
Flip Saunders suffered the same fate...three 50-win seasons, three Eastern Conference Finals appearances but no NBA title to show for his successes. The black velvet smoke that surrounded him as his name was introduced by Mason as the Pistons head coach before game 6......that's the last time he'll ever have that glory.
Bottom line...the proud city of Detroit, Michigan is a city that is about rising to the occasion when your back is to the wall. And Saunders just didn't rise when it counted. This city which is dominantly 80-90 percent minority want a championship and he did not meet their standards.
Time to flip the script.........http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080603/SPORTS03/80603092

WTF are you talking about? The reason he doesnt have a job is Rasheed Wallace is a part time player! Had he been able to rise to the occasion Detroit prob would be in the finals...Wallace has the potential to be great but he is just a bum.

I saw Wallace. He was down at the end of the bench toking on a blunt and reading the Koran. WHILE the game was going on!! LOL

When I'm in Detroit, I ALWAYS keep my back to the wall. That way, the thugs can't get to my wallet !!! :smartas:

CarlE,
I knew it was coming because someone asked Flip about his job status and he shot down the question. I knew right there Joe Dumars was going to can him...like he did Rick Carlisle. Dumars knew that Detroit was going to have one bad quarter and they would pay for it in game 6. Furthermore, Dumars also knew that Boston has been the best fourth quarter team in the NBA all season and that when the Pistons had a 9-0 run, Boston was going to go on a 12-0 run, which they did. Once again, Dumars was aware that Saunders just did not get fiercely aggressive over the course of games like Doc Rivers did. It all came into play. Dumars also knew that Saunders was not able to beat Miami and LeBron James in the conference finals the last two years. Lastly...Dumars knew Saunders inside and out. Saunders just wasn't the man who would rise to the occasion when his pride was on the line. It was too easy.

I bet you all the non-minorities who play for the Red Wings will be kicked out of the city by Mayor Kilpatrick (the soul and pride of Detroit, MI) and never be allowed to walk the streets of his hometown again :smartass:!
What will he do with the minorities, invite them to a hotel party (rooms paid for with the tax payers money) so they could all cheat on their wives?

ChronicTiger,
To answer your question...that's a resounding no. Minorities have to work and get paid like every non-minority does too!

These are the things Kilpatrick engages in. I'm curious whey you would call him the soul and pride of Detroit? The guy is a loser and a bad representation of the good people of Detroit!
In my mind you become more twisted with each post. To think some on here wanted you to replace Tiger Don......GOD what a mistake that would have been.

You really didnt answer the question...If he kicks the non-minorities out, what will he do with minorities?

ChronicTiger,
Just like Dennis Miller is the soul and pride of Pittsburgh, PA. Kilpatrick is the son of the devoted Carolyn and dominant Bernard Kilpatrick. He is raised Christian and has three loving sons who will be the most educated of people in the household. His brethren should realize that by now (they helped him become the youngest mayor in his hometown) and if not, shame on them!
Far as the non-minorities? Kwame will keep the minorities! You saw what Dumars did to Flip Saunders!

The Detroit team under achieved as soon as Larry Brown departed. Flip Sanders couldn't get it done---he is gone and Rasheed has to go as well for them to excel to the full potential. Detroit has the best backcourt in the NBA but lack a Center and Rasheed does not play 100% EVERY night to win consistantly. It was the Eastern conference finals and he played all 6 games like it was pre-season. Raheed was hugging, kissing on KG---like I have a ring and I want you to get yours now!! :puke:

monte81,
I vehemently disagree with your post. Kevin Garnett was just fundamentally sound in the series. I can't fault him for that. Rasheed Wallace is a competitor like Garnett but Garnett just took it to the next level, that's all.

Thats all? I think you just repeated what Monte said. His point is that Rasheed doesnt have the mental toughness to take it to the next level. Rasheed Wallace will NEVER be considered the competitor that KG is...NEVER!

I disagreed with Monte81. Boston just played a better series, that's all. Both are competitors, it just that Garnett was better (nothing mental).

Its ALL mental. That is why KG is better. He has his head on right. Rasheed will never reach his potential because he has NO mental toughness! KG was better, KG is better, and KG will always be better than Wallace...the reason, mental strength.

Rasheed could be the best PF in basketball but he lacks killer instincts needed to be the best---jut like LaMar Odom for LA. Both seem scared, shy, or just lacks the mental make up to dominate every night and that is a SHAME!!!!

You forget that Rasheed was at his toughest in the fourth quarter of tight games in the 2004 and 2005 seasons.
