couldn't expect anything less from that conservative. just look at the books he's written.

my favorite part: "The quick answer might be that liberals are simply being more honest about their dishonesty. However attractive this explanation might be for some, there is simply no basis for accepting this explanation."

....but yet he believes there's a basis for the contrary? LOL.

btw - just b/c a liberal may say, for example, that they believe cheating on taxes is okay, it doesn't mean that they actually do it. many people who don't smoke marijuana still believe it should be legal. many people believe seat belt laws are ridiculous, but still buckle up.

this is like mel gibson conducting a survey of his family members that conclude that he really loves jews......or the catholic church taking a poll and concluding that child molestation doesn't happen at all.

Hah, that's funny...however, he does actually list the institutions that conducted the survey.

i'm not saying that he's making up the results, b/c i definitely don't believe that. it's the interpretation of the results, though, that i have a problem with.

if a poll found that 80% of all conservatives thought that cheating on a spouse is okay, and only 10% of all liberals believed that it was okay, it could very well be that the reason for the gap is that conservatives are actually more honest and willing to admit what they believe. it doesn't necessarily mean that more conservatives cheat, or that they're more likely to cheat. you could ask a follow-up question and find that the percentage of those who have actually cheated are 70% liberal and 30% conservative. even if 80% of conservatives believed that it was okay to cheat, that doesn't equate to 80% actually cheating. they might just be more forthcoming with their views.

the author, who is a known conservative (to say the least) is simply taking stats and providing his own biased analysis of the data. all we have are numbers, but no realy answer to why those numbers came out that way. he hasn't proven that liberals ACT more dishonestly, or that they're less trustworthy.

remember when michael moore came out with fahrenheit 9/11? he presented the facts in one way, but not everyone just took his word for it. many have come out of the woodwork to rebut some of his claims, saying that he wasn't telling the entire story.

It's always about the interpretation of the results. And quite honestly we are ALL going to interpret them in the way that validates our opinion, right?

Honesty is not a trait of a political group or philosophy. Honesty is a personal trait and good and bad examples are present in each party and political belief catagory.
