and I heard yesterday at school, about three of them pulled fire alarms to set off the alarms...and that isn't it.....i heard that a bunch of seniors are about to roll out the turf on the upper parking deck down the hill because they are mad about graduation being inside.....

Yes they did set off the fire alarms yesterday. It seems they are ready for school to be over.
Mommy, if you heard they are going to unroll the turf, you should call the High school and warn them.

I am a little perplexed with the notion that even though we supposedly have security at the highschool and cameras, no one ever seems to be caught in the act whle pulling any of these stunts. After going through this year after year, shouldn't the security people and system be a little better tweaked by now:huh:

The fire alarm was pulled twice, and the seniors did plan to roll all the turf in the upper parking lot down the hill but it never went through. There preeeeetty mad about graduation this year.

If they get caught doing any of this stoopid chit, maybe they won't be attending graduation at all. Grow the F up. Big deal, graduation is inside.

After the senior pranks last year , with some HIGH PROFILE athletes being threatened with non-graduation, I would think that this year's bunch would learn from that.
But,....................I guess not.:wall:

I thought that 2 years ago when the McKinley people defaced the school the week of the McKinley game, that we were told not ALL outside doors had cameras.
We have a telepro dept. Can't we , ( as a non-profit org.) , get a deal on some cameras ?? Or , could a local business donate them??
In a world where $200K houses have indoor/outdoor security systems, why can't our 20 million dollar high school ???? :bs:
If I'm in charge, I think I would schedule 24 hour security during the McKinley week, and last two weeks in May.
Hire a private security company. How much could 3 weeks of security cost ?? Probably not as miuch as the damages !!

when will these kids learn??? toilet papering is fun, biodegradable, and goes away easily...what gets damaged from toilet paper??? nothing that i know of...except for causing a tp shortage in the community...although you could collect what they used and "recycle" it if you know what i mean...
maybe, if both adults and the teens could get together and come up with some creative ways of celebrating graduation...that isn't destructive...these incidences wouldn't happen...
problem is...the adults are trying to take all the fun out of the occasion which is what is upsetting the kids...they did it to us way back when...we were told that we wouldn't get our diplomas if we threw our caps...what would that have hurt??? absolutely nothing...but, we wanted out of there badly, so we didn't do it...at least not me...
it is a case of forbidden fruit...the more you make forbidden, the more they want to do that very thing...just to thumb their noses at the ones in authority...
i agree that outdoor graduation is fun...a part of the Massillon Tiger tradition...much moreso than indoors...especially in a gymful of hot people...
so, do like they have done for years...
plan A in the stadium if the weather cooperates
and
plan B in the gym if it doesn't...
how does one know this far in advance??? are they dick goddard or some weather guru??? relax a little and go with the flow...life is too short to go around with your shorts in a bunch all the time, and this is what it sounds like is happening with those powers to be...
why not have some neat graduation weekend activities...
a senior class campout... in tiger stadium...with the tiger swing band headlining a concert with some local groups...
movies on the big screen...
a covered dish dinner, a last tailgate party, pancake breakfast made by the teachers and administrators...a dean martin style roast of the teachers and administrators...(make this part of the last English writing assignment, with no vulgarities allowed graded on the one who can dish out the best insults in the most intelligent fashion...using the biggest vocabulary), rock climbing wall, water balloon fights, do we still have the pool??? then, swimming at the pool...basketball 3 on 3 competition...think of "clean fun" stuff...
just some thoughts as i was reading what had happened...maybe, if we did something special, and creative...this would lessen the desire to destroy property...and then, again, i may be extremely naive...

if it were the weather, i think this would be understandable, but the problem is this.....they knew all year long that graduation (they being the school) was on May 25th, so why and the hell would they pull up the turf this week??? why??? could they not have done it a few weeks ago to have it done in time or wait until the week after graduation to do it, shit football don't start until the end of august...they must think they wont have it done in time for that or something...why ruin this day for our seniors....WHAT A BUMMER and it could have been prevented....

When you are dealing with an outside company, ( turf company), that needs to return to do a job, I would guess that you are kind of at their mercy of being jammed into their schedule. JMHO.
Maybe this was the only timeslot that they could re-do our turf. After all, what is more important ??

Our neighbors to the west, ( TUSLAW), had their graduation today. It was INDOORS , and not one person complained !!
I sure hope that this has no long term effects on their mental stability ! :smartass:

You would be right. Also you have to remember that they are working on 2 fields at the same time. They are also saving money by having the Stadium field base moved into the fieldhouse.

I think kids today are freaking idiots and they get it from their parents. I swear, moving to a remote island sounds better and better every day. With NO Internet access so I don't have to read crap like this. I mean, 6 months from now who is even going to CARE where you graduated. It sounds like half of these morons aren't going to be doing anything but working at McDonald's anyway.

Do it right the first time like they taught us in school then you wouldnt have to redo anything and screw up schedules and timelines. But to the seniors it is best to graduate than not to graduate at all so take it as it is.

Now that it has been mentioned, I hope the turf is being watched at night. I'm sure some crazy massillon fans would like to have some of that turf and might take a piece of it at night or some Anti-Massillon fan may ruining it somehow. Sure hope now one messy with it.:suspect:
