Voice,
Since TWBT was so rash with his comments against the last broadcast,
are you still working on a way to block his broadcast? LOL
You guys are doing a good job......And 99.9% of your listeners
appreciate you and Todd B.!!
Keep up the good work!:gogogo:

Amen xtiger, these people should be thanking their lucky stars that they can even get a feed of the play by play over the internet from these gentlemen. From what I understand, they are not professional sportscasters and never claimed to be. They are a couple of big Tiger fans that have some radio and broadcasting knowledge that wanted to help out the Tiger fans out of town and out of state dying to listen to some Tiger Football.....Cut them some slack.

Thanks guys.. and you're right.. we do this because we love our TIGERS..
besides.. I don't know about Todd, but I am certainly too ugly to do anything but radio.. unfortunately, with all my years in broadcasting; I've NEVER done sports before, so I apoligize for any forthcoming blunders.. and I'm sure there will be some..better us .. than on the field...

It should be amazing, but it isn't, that people would jump on these guys in a public forum like they did.
I seriously doubt that they make any more money than the $.10 a day that Jimbo pays gotigers1 and me.
The Voice and company are much more gracious than I am.
I'm a volunteer. STFU if you don't like it.

So much for constructive criticism. It's amazing how alot of fans, and even some that have voiced their opinions in this thread, have chastized and ridiculed other announcers of Tiger football games that were just as " loyal and passionate about the Tigers" as these guys are.
Some have even joked about their style, vocabulary. and football knowledge repeatedly in the chat room, and in many other threads in the past, and even called them "intolerable"!
Evidently this situation is different!

Sorry, It did not occur to me until now that people might not be aware that they are members here and could have been PM’d any constructive criticism.
I really do think that they are different than the other announcers that are publicly attacked on the site.
For one thing, I personally consider them to be a part of the overall Tiger program, not broadcasters for an outside organization.
For what its worth though, I consider myself that also…

LOL - Calm down Carle, Jimbo gave me a free copy of the 2005 Highlight DVD, which I figure is about ten cents a day for my "work".
Please don't tell the IRS!

Yeah but TWBT the guys you mention we're part of WTIG, a "professional" radio station that has been in business for years. They (WTIG/ESPN 990) accept commercial endorsement money etc. for their football broadcasts and their broadcasters are or were portrayed as a "professional" broadcast team.
The two guys doing the internet broadcasts, just started doing this this year for the first time, not sure if they take commercial endorsements, but I don't think they are and I'm pretty sure they have not put themselves out there as a "professional" broadcast crew. They're doing it because they love the Tigers and they wanted to do something to help the Tiger Nation be able to get their fix.....There is a difference.
Even with the (what I think are) petty complaints about not knowing the Fla. teams rank or the audacity of them not knowing a former Massillon player (Star or otherwise) calling in, I still think they do a better job than Bill Caples when it comes to giving the time remaining, ball position, score update, action happening on field, etc. etc. I know Bill loves the Tigers and is one of the biggest fans, but in reality, HIS announcing abilities the last few years have been sorely lacking.
I would rather listen to someone who updates the game info frequently so I know what's going on, but makes a few mistakes about other teams rankings, than listen to someone who knows all the history of the Tigers and the opponents or other teams involved, but makes you sit and listen for what seems like almost quarters at a time without giving the score, time remaining etc. Not to mention the fact (which has become a common place joke here) that when a big play happens, Bill gets all excited and instead of telling the audience what just went on, all we get is "Oh! Jimmy did you see that play! Oh my!" while we're sitting there wondering what the heck just went on....It's funny, but it gets old.

Thanks for the support guys, i'll take it from here.......it's showtime twbt.. just you and me dude..number one.. WHO ARE YOU ? A fan ? No!; that can't be it.. to undermind something because of petty mistakes does not make a fan! .. WHY ARE YOU HERE ? to chip away at the hard work that everybody behind Massillon Proud and Radio Massillon do in the name of promoting the best football program on earth .. WHAT ARE YOUR MOTIVES ? To control.. is it your way or the highway; and if we don't bow down, you take on this wrath attack attitude... dude.. you laid a personal attack on me last week.. you challenged my ability as a Broadcaster.. I might ad, a THIRTY year award winning Broadcast Journalist .. (stints at ABC WHBC and several awards from AP)
But I have no need to vindicate myself here.. the only side of broadcasting I never did was sports.. I'm doing it now because of my love for the Tigers.. not for power.. not for ego and NOT FOR MONEY .. Mad props to ya Voice! Even though I've never actually heard your broadcast, you provide a valuable service to Tiger fans who cannot otherwise be at the game. AND, your reason for doing it is second to none.
Keep on truckin' man! You're a Tiger through and through!

It is greatly appreciated, somewhat of a throwback. I think it's great.
It lets all of us who can't make it to a whole lot of games keep the tradition a little closer to us every week.
THANKS!

Obiefan closed the thread and deleted it, but after that TigerswillbeTigers wanted to add one more thing.
He PM'd it to The Voice and others.
We decided to add his remarks and put the thread back up but keep it locked.
TV, I've been in meetings all day and was hoping to send you and Todd an open apology on the "live" thread for all to see, but that thread has been locked by obiefan.
I want you and Todd to know that I regret posting my reply to the two threads that were started by others after the Hamilton game. Unfortunately I know the frustration that you two must have felt by the negative comments all to well. This is certainly not an attempt to offer excuses for my comments and perceived lack of appreciation for what you guys do, it's simply an explanation of what drove me to interact with others on the aforementioned threads.
I was at a private golf outing in Orlando 2 weeks ago with several members of upper management at Publix grocery, Land-O-Lakes, and Pepperidge Farms, which all happen to be Lakeland Florida businesses. During our luncheon there were several Lakeland Dreadnaught fans discussing the teams trip north to play in the Herbie challenge. I was involved in conversation with many of them and found myself having to legitimize the validity and supposed "arrogance" of anyone that truly believes that the best HS football is actually played in the state of Ohio.
Needless to say that made my Orange and Black blood boil! I went into the history of the Tiger program, pointed out the Paul Browns, Earl Bruce and Chris Spielmans of the program, bragged about our rich tradition, the sideliner program, the booster club, the stadium, and I even had the audacity to call Massillon the "hotbed of HS football"!
I encouraged those not attending the Lakeland game in Cinci to log on to the webcast of the Massillon - Hamilton game and to "enjoy the braodcast of the "greatest show on HS turf"!
Well, needless to say, I received more stinkin e-mails that night, and the next day telling me that it was "absurd" that the announcers of "the greatest show on HS turf" had no clue who Lakeland Fl. was, and that they had won 3 straight State championships, and the previous years USA National Championship!
I heard all about the "HS student announcers" that continually talked over each other, was "more interested in" their turkey sandwiches, michelob and boogers, and "had limited knowledge at best as to what a football is"!
Unfortunately for me I went to the MP.com forumns and noticed a thread about the broadcast. Even more unfortunate was my decision to reply to the thread at a time when my own pride was crushed!
As I previously mentioned, this was supposed to be an open apology for all to see, not intended to be an excuse for my comments, and an opportunity to thank both you and Todd for all you do.
Once again, I hope you can accept my apology, and share it with Todd!
If you accept my apology I would appreciate it if you would forward this PM to obiefan and Seeker. It's important to me that they know what I had to say to both of you privately with regards to this matter. If you choose not to accept my apology I understand.
Sincerely, TWBT!
