EVERYONE
At last night’s Booster Club meeting Coach Stacy called upon the legions of Tiger fanatics to make the journey to Mentor Friday evening!
The ‘Mentorites’ have been licking their chops for a year for the opportunity to lay one on us! In fact, some are blaming their loss to Ignatius last week on the cardinals looking ahead to our game. Does THAT give you an indication of how seriously they are taking Massillon?
We MUST call upon our legions to overtake the Mentor campus in support of our Team.
If you have not purchased your tickets as of yet DO IT NOW. Bring the kids! Bring your friends! Bring your coworkers!
and BRING ORANGE!
GO TIGERS! IT’S ON!

I don't know who you guys are trying to fool, but beating Ignatius at Byers would have meant a bit more to Mentor fans. Oil Filter was trying to sell this notion yesterday, to no avail. Feel free to ask Mentor fans yourselves, the ones I know were pretty adamant.
Perhaps its propaganda to get Tigers fans to show up... ?

I think beating Moellar was probably more important to us than beating Hamilton, but since we lost to Moellar, we put a big target on Hamiltons back. My guess is we now have a target on our back.
Lets Get-R-Done in Mentor.
Go Tigers:gogogo:

Agree LUGEY!!
No matter what they thought of the Massillon game 10 days ago, the urgency of this game has been undoubtedly raised to an extreme new height !! They know this could be the beginning or end of the 2006 season !!
GO TIGERS !!

I must have misunderstood what the “Mentor guy” in the building told me. I’ll specifically ask him if a win over St Ignatius means more to Mentor fans at large than a win over Massillon. I’ll be sure to post his response.

BTW, were you the Ed’s guy who bought a Tiger tee shirt at our booster club store Saturday afternoon?

I guess it depends on who you talk to... but the ones I spoke with were pretty adamant.
No, I did not buy any Tiger memorabilia this trip, perhaps another time. I did make sure to drive down Lincoln Way to enjoy the murals once again though.
I forgot to mention how cordial the Massillon people I encountered were. Two Tiger gentlemen and I joked after the quick first score of the Ed's game that it would be a good time to get something to eat, and be back with time to spare for the Massillon game. Had I known the game would end 49-3, I probably would have gone with them.

I work in Mentor and also live right 2 miles from it. The company I work for probably employs 500-550 people. Guessing, 200 or so from Mentor. So here's my take on it. There are some with boys on the Varsity and some on JV, Frosh , Jr high etc....I would say the 3 most important games were Massillon, Iggy, Glenville and in that order. From a personal observation I noticed only a few talking about Iggy, but so far this week I wish I would have a dollar for everytime I heard "Massillon". The one guy I'm fairly close with that has a kid on the team told me Massillon is "the game" just because of the way we hammered them. Plus, on top of that, I think they want to try to show that their fans are hard core fans like us. They were getting on me pretty good about the ticket allocation with us "demanding" at least 6000, getting 4000 and as of 2:10 this afternoon only selling 1500. (that's true because I called right after that to confirm it), so I'm really hoping ticket sales pick up. Of course that's much better that the 250 they brought to Massillon last year. I'm so tired of listening about Mentor football.

It's obviously one of their biggest games on their schedule. I don't care if they regard it as THE game. I just hope their results are the same as last week.

I'm absolutely going, and am planning to buy a ticket at the gate - should I be concerned about availability of tickets?

My wife and I will be there.....but I think what is going to hurt Tiger Nation is the fact that this game is on Friday night.....with the current construction around the area and the typical slowdowns on 271 it's going to be a good 90 minutes to 2 hours and a lot of people can't take off work early. I have no doubt if it was a Saturday night game Tiger Nation would make that place a sea of Orange!!!!! I figure this is Mentor's doing and quite a good decision for them. They will still fill the place but with less Orange.

We are taking the bus and don't have to worry about construction and all the other mess. Just sit back and enjoy. Of course BEAT MENTOR too and enjoy the ride back to Mtown.

Yes, I was told that they are trying to get away from selling at the gate, although I'm sure someone will have an extra floating around. Get one down there, the money will go to Massillon, as a matter of fact buy a few and give them to some buddies.... That's what I did, bought 8 awhile ago, bought 6 more last week (from Massillon of course) gave some of them to first timers that have never seen the Tigers play, the others I sold to friends (hey, can't give away everything right?) Anyway, if it were me, I'd come with ticket in hand, but that's just me..

ObieWon-There are about 8-thousand seats. They expect more than that, which means it will be standing room only. If buying at Mentor is your only option then get there early.
LakeCountyTiger-I like your attitude. Hopefully you can convert some of those "first timers."

You know what's cool is I had season tickets for many years to go watch the Tigers and I always brought someone with me. Everytime it was always the same thing, they were in awe of the "whole thing", the band, the fans and the caliber of football played. No matter what kind of week I was having I always looked forward to my friday night getaway. When my son started playing of course I watched him but still went to games when Massillon played on Saturdays. Some of us dad's brought half of his team to a couple games and those kids still talk about their trip down to Tigertown.
The funny thing is, this week you would think that anyone in this county is pulling for Mentor.. wrong! There will be many people up here sitting on the Massillon side... Massillon has a pretty nice following up here. I guess I could take some of the credit but I can't. It's all about the Massillilon "experience" you just get hooked on it...1st class program, 1st class people.... can't wait till Friday!

Hopefully, after the Iggy loss, some of the "bandwagon" fans will not go to see their Mentor football team this week !!!:sour:

To the contrary Dh8tr...I think these fans will see this game as an opportunity to redeem themselves, and they will most likely turn out in droves.
