Koufos declares for NBA Draft but ...
GlenOak grad leaves door open to return to Ohio State
BY Mike Popovich
Ohio State's Kosta Koufos said Monday he will declare for this summer's NBA Draft but the 7-foot freshman has not closed the door on a return to the Buckeyes.
Koufos said in a text message to The Repository he will not hire an agent. Underclassmen who do not hire agents can later pull out of the draft by June 16 and return to school.

I really thought this kid should wait at least one more year before trying to make the leap.

He's not even close to being ready for the NBA.

He didn't hire an agent. Reality will set in. He'll be back in school.

I think he's better off going to Greece and playing professionally for 2-3 years. They think he is God over there (that will make Seeker happy). I think I read where they offered him about $3 Million a year in U.S. dollars already. Heck with the 'college experience', go to Greece, develop your game, get stronger and chase young, little Greek girls for a couple years! After 2 or 3 years, he will be much more suited to the NBA and make even bigger paychecks.

i agree. if he wants to leave he'd be better off going over there and developing, especially if they are offering that kind of money. he wouldn't get that if he was drafted here.
i also agree that he's not ready.

I believe Todd Porter had an article a few Sundays ago about his opportunities in Greece. He may also be playing on the Greek Olympic team this summer because of his heritage. How can he turn that down?

personally i think the level of competition would be much better if he stayed at ohio state than going to greece to develop his game. he should come back and polish his game up next year, by then he will be a 1st round pick after next season.

He will get drafted because of his potential, IMO.

You've been hanging around me waaaaay too long, TC.
:sad2:
You're starting to give "Smitty"-style advice.
And: another vote that he'd be better suited to stay with the Buckeyes... for another year at least.

Where's that Massillon lady at in all of this? The woman who so maligned Mr. Koufos? I give Kosta all the credit in the world for how he handled himself when that happened last year.

Should've stayed in school and moved over to PF when the freshman center Mullens comes in next year. He could've played one more, maybe two more years and been a high draft pick. Now he'll get picked and warm up the end of some NBA team's bench!

I don't think he's good enough to make an NBA team. I think he'll get the hell beat out of him.
