Rose well aware of what's awaiting Hall
MASSILLON, OH — Jack Rose knows of one major difference between himself and Jason Hall in terms of entering their first season as the head football coach at Massillon.
“I was in there a year (as defensive coordinator) before I got the job,” Rose said Monday afternoon. “I was on the staff with Lee (Owens).”
But even that one year on Owens’ staff couldn’t completely prepare Rose – who was 41-14 as the Tiger head coach between 1992-97 – for what he found out once he stepped into the head coaching job. To him, it is also the one thing he believes Hall, nor any other coach coming into the position, can be completely prepared for until they actually experience it for themselves.
“I guess the main thing is, just the love in the community for that football team,” said Rose, who spent last season as an assistant coach for Hall’s predecessor, Tom Stacy. “It’s overwhelming. You can’t go anywhere in that town that they don’t talk about the Tigers.”......................................
