Rose well aware of what's awaiting Hall

MASSILLON, OH — Jack Rose knows of one major difference between himself and Jason Hall in terms of entering their first season as the head football coach at Massillon.
“I was in there a year (as defensive coordinator) before I got the job,” Rose said Monday afternoon. “I was on the staff with Lee (Owens).”
But even that one year on Owens’ staff couldn’t completely prepare Rose – who was 41-14 as the Tiger head coach between 1992-97 – for what he found out once he stepped into the head coaching job. To him, it is also the one thing he believes Hall, nor any other coach coming into the position, can be completely prepared for until they actually experience it for themselves.
“I guess the main thing is, just the love in the community for that football team,” said Rose, who spent last season as an assistant coach for Hall’s predecessor, Tom Stacy. “It’s overwhelming. You can’t go anywhere in that town that they don’t talk about the Tigers.”......................................

I read that story in todays paper the thing that jumped out to me was this
>>The two also met on Saturday as Hall sat down with all of the current assistant coaches in order to formulate his staff. Those conversations, though, have given Rose enough to work with in formulating his own opinion on Hall.<<

I was told this meeting never took place and Coach Hall was in the hospital,
does anyone have any knowledge of this ?

I've heard it may have been a bad case of strep throat. Lets wish our new coach a speedy recovery.

I did hear it was strep but thought it was odd to be hospitalized for it.
I am sure he will not be down for long.

Do we know if he is interviewing outside coaches or from within?

He can't interview outside until he weeds out the inside.
I don't see a lot of changes just yet.

We know Doug Harwig and Al Checca are gone. Both by their choice and before Coach was hired.

What is the chance of Elder, Jarvis, Studer or Payne joining the staff?

Carl E, After knowing you for umpteen years it's nice to see you admit you don't know everything. All of us are still learning every day. Enjoyed the visit with your family when we were in Florida. I'll be down next winter to trim those bushes. HA,HA,Ha.

Hall will do a great job. I look foward to watching him turn the program around. The committee did the right thing with this selection.
