I was at work by the time it happened on the live feed...and then I missed it on the west coast feed. All I know is Artie Lange walked out of the show today...and they are not going to replay today's show. If anybody can fill me in (SternRulz) i'd really appreciate it!

OMG! Ugly. Really ugly. It started with Artie yelling at Teddy in the hall during a break about passport info, and Howard brought it into the studio. It just got really ugly with Artie saying Teddy sucks at his job etc., then a bunch of other stuff came out about Artie lending Teddy money ($16k I think) and not ever getting it back and how Artie feels sorry for him so he won't gfire him, and on and on. Teddy was firing back and it just escalated. I think Artie threw water at him then charged after him and about 7 guys had to hold him back. He said he was going to kill him if he got ahold of him becasue he was stealing his money.

Howard told Artie that he can't have that kind of behavior, Artie said he can't guarantee it won't happen again, Howard said then he can't stay there and Artie said fine, he resigns, then Howard accepted. They hugged, exhanged I love yous and Artie left.

Very messed up!

Here's an audio clip starting right before Artie blew up. Hope it works...they may have pulled it.

Stern,

Thanks for the link...this is a huge disapointment! I love Artie on the show and this is a bummer. I hope he is back in 2 weeks when they return from vacation.

Glad I got to hear it on the west coast feed. Should be interesting to see what happens from here.

Artie always said his tenure on the show would end badly.

Sounded like Artie was crying at the end, or should I say choked up.

Sounds like a typical talk radio cliff-hanger publicity stunt to me.

Yawn.

Not this time. Artie has some serious issues. He slept on the show yesterday for nearly 90 minutes. He fell out of the bed/cot they gave him and didn't wake up. As hard as it is to believe, it was actually funny.

If you missed it, here are the 3 parts of the 'confrontation' that led to Artie quitting. I think that Artie has been looking for an out, for some time.

WOW. Sorry I missed this one. I was flying up here. Artie is one of the main-stays on the show and I'll hate to see him leaving if it's true. I hope it's a publicity stunt. And Tigers2001 you are right. NOBODY compares the The Great One!! In Tampa, morning sucks with the local talent.

I take it you're not a fan of BTLS. It took me a couple weeks to get him, but I'm a full blown member of the Bubba Army.

Heard on the Howard 100 newsbreak today that a decision has been made regarding Arties lapse of judgement...however, the decision will only come from Howard, and it won't be known until Monday. Artie fouled up...and fouled up pretty bad, but I'll be very disapointed if he is let go.

I hope he's not done. I love him on that show! It's not the same when he's not on. Guess we'll know at 6:00 Monday.

Bet me, Buckwheat!

Just wait until the answer comes from Stern.
The "staff member quits or gets fired, maybe, right before a break" stunt has been used for forty years in talk radio.
They have to, because the chit is so stale and boring.

Again, YAWN.

Actually, his lame crap is the reason I stopped ever tuning in to Stern.
Artie has the humor of a 7th grade boy.

Sorry, but I'm a little past that in life.

So you're a loyal listener?

Again, Stern doesn't need cliffhangers to keep listeners. He's proven that his listeners will follow and PAY to hear him. He has a pretty loyal fanbase. That's unmistakably evident with his success and longevity in the game.

The fans remain with or without stunts and cliffhangers and with or without Artie.

He is the reason i purchase sirius as well...and I would get rid of cable television before I ever got rid of Sirius.

SternRulz...you are 100% correct, we will still listen with or without Artie...but it will be disapointing to not hear any more of his wonderful stories. i.e. The Pig-suit and cocain story (Babewatch), The dill pickle chip in his underwear, coins falling out of the folds of his fat, getting STD's from NYC prostitutes, etc...

Yes...sadly enough...some of us have to accept the role of grown-up.
The success of the next generation depends on it.

I guess those of us that accept the challenge and role make it possible for people like Stern and his loyal fanbase to carry on their traditions.

But...and this is a lesson I've had to learn this past year...some of us are glad to be way past middle school...a lot of Massillon people are still stuck there well into their forties and fifties.

It just doesn't revolve around large enhanced breasts, lesbian loving, farting, anal sex...well I think you know the rest, since you apparently are an avid listener.

Juvenile meaning "immature", not meaning child.

This one has audio from an appearance Artie made.

savebabygorilla.com is funny. Glad Artie is back. Sounds like he's finally committed to seeing a shrink.

I used to have Howard TV, but cancelled it for a few reasons. Since they've decided to run this show on demand, I plan on temporarily re-subscribing to it just to see this!

Very pleased to hear Arties voice this morning, and even more pleased to hear that he is committed to getting himself healthy, both mentally and physically. I too cannot wait to see it on Howard TV...MassillonCatholic, let me know when it gets posted...I'll bring the cigars!
