MASSILLON, OH — “It’s not unthinkable that someone who has proven experience as a successful high school coach would be interested in seeking more information about the position before he decided to throw his hat into the ring. We would certainly share that information with them, and if they did throw their hat into the ring and they fit most of the items on the rubric, then we would take that forward to the board.”

Those were the words Massillon superintendent Fred Blosser told this newspaper on March 9 when asked about the timetable for finding the next head football coach. Almost a month later, it appears Blosser’s words have proven to be prophetic in a sense..............................
