Hey everybody. I' m working on this (http://massillonproud.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8142) project where we are displaying art and featuring local food vendors, local musician/performers and empty commercial space downtown.

So I have artist friends which are like a 'hand of aces' but we would like to get a broader rage of local (Massillon) artists, and save my aces only if we need them.

We want to use new, up-and-coming, unknown talent!

So I'm asking if you know anybody. Somebody with a large body of art work (15 pieces +) that is finished and ready to hang.
I support all forms of art but if your little brother can doodle a few Anime characters, that doesn’t really cut it.
Who are the Massillon Artists? Just using the resources at hand to find them.

This is a great opportunity to show work and possibly sell it.

Also Musicians! We want a performer, (solo or group) to perform at each show and there is a small stipend for each.
Again, I want professionals who have polished performances. Not just somebody who can play 3 chords and scream.

Also Food! We would like to feature local food vendors by having them donate refreshments. This is an opportunity to show of their best dishes and hand out coupons! So if you or somebody you know has a food making business, this is an opportunity to show off, advertise, and hopefully generate more businesses.

Also rental space! We are expecting hundreds of people at our event this weekend. It is our hope that many of those could be potential tenants.
Again, if you or somebody you know has a space in the central downtown Massillon area (Viaduct to 3rd, Tremont to North) that needs to be rented, we are offering to organize a free open house for the space with lots of people attending!

so MassillonProud readers, who do you know? pro-artists? Food vendors? Property owners?

"Professionals" wouldn't likely appear for a "small stipend".

Well there is a stipend and the all-you-eat publicity.
Again for both visual and musical artists, you have start some where. I would think a small stipend beats just "open mic night" at coffee shop or bar.
I don't think there are a lot of these types of opportunities for musicians in this area that pay, and I'm sure there's a lot of talent looking for an audience where the stipend is a bonus.
If somebody is too proffesional for what we are offering, then they are probably doing well enough as a musician that they wouldn't need our help anyway.

Now who's got a rockin' band?:rockin: or plays jazz sax? or plays the classical piano on a key board?
