I don't know if anyone watches the show Animal Cops Detroit on Animal Planet. I was watching the show last night and was sickened to see a large dogfighting ring at a resident's home in the city.
It was nearly reminiscent of the Michael Vick situation...the only difference, the wounded dogs eventually survived, placed in foster homes and the perpetrator was arrested. The show mentioned that Detroit has the highest rate in the nation for stopping these cruel matches.
Other cities in the U.S. could take a lesson from Detroit on how to combat such rings before they get off.
Anyone has an opinion on how dogfighters and would-be-aspiring dogfighters should be punished aside from the lighter charges of it being only a fourth-degree felony?
