My town is almost under water! now, if i want to go to school, insstead of going through Mineral City and through New Philly, i have to drive up to the place called Gullivers and hop on the highway!! What a load of crap. now i got to leave 15 minutes earliy. Dont we design our streets to not flood? i mean i can see a backroad or two, but for the entire 3 miles or so to be gone, i mean c'mon!:wall:

The rivers are flooding not the streets.

Maybe you would rather downtown Massillon look like this.

This is a view of Massillon, Ohio, looking east from Ceres Supply Co., Tremont Street. (1913)
The reservoirs are functioning exactly as designed. At differing stages of flooding, certain roads are going to be under water. If the Dover Dam is holding the maximum amount of water as designed, the northbound lanes of I-77 were designed to be under water.

I am sure that what is going on down there now is NOTHING compared to the flood of 1913. You just think it bad because you have to drive an extra 15 minutes to get to school.

quit being a whiney butt...think of the people out in missouri...and places along the mississippi and ohio rivers...NOW that is some serious flooding...and the rivers haven't crested yet...
and this is coming from someone who has been flooded twice in the past 7 months living here in findlay ohio...and the town has had the blanchard river go over its banks 10 times in the past 15 months...
so many people have lost their homes...and even their lives...
when you have faced situations like either one of these, THEN you can begin to whine...but, not just because of the inconvenience of a road or two being covered...and an extra few moment of your precious time...
sometimes, i wonder what some people would do if they were faced with a truly serious, lifethreatening problem...
sorry, not getting any sympathy here...not about this...
you should even be grateful that you have road that you can take...back in august, there wasn't a road we could take going north, south, east or west to get across town...at one point, even I-75 was closed down because it was covered...

Why don't you stop at Gulliver's for some breakfast? They have good food. And some real classy people there.
