I don't lean either way but it would be stupid for him to go to UM. They have nothing Sam McGuffie is already in Rich Rod's dog house and is over rated. OSU brought in 3 future studs on the O-line and Devir Posey a 5star WR. Who is left at UM Manningham? No... Arington? No... Hart? No.... Long? No.... At OSU Hartline? Yep, Robiske, Yes SIR, Wells and Wells Uh Huh. Michigan is done.

My opinion is that Joe Paterno is going to be a very happy man tomorrow. Otherwise, he would have committed to Ohio State on signing day. Just my opinion, but Coach Tressel may be disappointed. I hope I'm wrong, though.

My opinion is that Joe Paterno is going to be a very happy man tomorrow.
Why? Will he make it to the bathroom on time?
Watching him run for the locker room during a game last time to use the bathroom was one of the funniest things I've seen.
I really think that Pryor will be at OSU. I'm sure he will love the guys he will have blocking for him.

Given the self-centered attitude that this kid seems to have, I'd think that the schools that don't get him might end up with the better end of the deal.

pryor said that he was going to sign with ohio state, but decided to visit psu b/c his dad (who's a psu fan) really wanted him to visit the school. i recently read that he's down to michigan and osu, but i don't know how credible the source was.
i agree with you, though. something's telling me that he won't end up at osu.

I almost posted that but thought better of it in case he goes to OSU. I don't want to start off with negativity toward a new Buckeye.

I think that is a good idea Carle, has there. With all due respect to everyone, I have been wondering why it is that some seem to be holding it against this young man for taking his time and weighing all of his options before he makes his decision? It's been stated repeatedly that he wanted to focus on his performance during the end of his highschool basketball career before he continued on with his college visits. Which, at least on the surface, appears to be, in part, out of respect for his father's wishes.
I have seen nothing in print where he has been speaking in an arrogant manner or the like. IMO, the kid is taking his own future into his hands and not letting anyone else push him into something until he is ready to decide what he feels is in the best interest of himself. Which is not being self-centered at all, it is HIS life afterall and certainly the biggest decision of his young life up until now. And even if one still cares to call his decision process "self centered", I ask who else the decision should be made around, if not himself?
I doubt if any of us would like it if we were criticized for taking our time in making a decision if we had several job offers laid before us or in weighing our options on different houses we were considering to buy, etc.

Great post and I agree! TP was avoiding interviews coaches, and wished schools would stop texting him every 5 minutes. He replied that is immediate goals was to maintain his current GPA, hang out with friends, and win the bball state championship.
He has lowered his choices to OSU and UM which are 2 great academic and athletic institutions. I think the kid wil be a wonderful talent in either system because of his running and passing ability. If he goes to UM he starts next season(that could be good or bad because of the pressure) and if he goes to OSU he sits a few games or a year and JT works him in gradually like he did T. Smith. You have to wonder if the "play now" may be waying his decision and I know his decision will have a major trickle effect on the recruiting class in 2009.

Columbus media outlets are running a special story tomorrow, and will not comment on it, according to premium boards at Bucknuts. They also spoke to Pryor's coach at Jeannette Pa, and he said OSU was a done deal. Anything else would be a MAJOR shock to him. Also, a report on Bucknuts premium board has the LOI signed and delivered, and the celebration in C-Bus has begun!!!! Let's hope these reports are all accurate. ESPN reported OSU as the overwhelming favorite as well.
As far as the recruiting fallout that you mentioned Monte, I think there are as many players who will want to play AGAINST him, as well as with him. It will be interesting to see how it shakes out for a number of players on the radar for both schools.

I'm also impressed with this kid's decision making process. He's in the middle of a state championship basketball season and doesn't want to be distracted. That shows loyalty to his teammates and his school and I like that. I remember 25 years ago I had to miss 2-3 basketball games because of official visits. (Not that it mattered on our basketball team, LOL)

I don't believe he's ever been arrested multiple times as you allude to. He has had some scrapes due to the hype, and has been scrutinized for everything he has done. He has also made some bad decisions in the heat of competition, and had a minor altercation after a game. Please provide a link that shows proof of multiple arrests, as you said.....

i think it's a situation where people are frustrated that he's been pushing his decision, and are taking those frustrations out on him personally. his indecision is being taken as arrogance. he was going to commit at the AA game, then pushed it. he was then going to commit during a news conference with espn, then pushed it. i think that if he just kept quiet and committed when he was ready, instead of pushing his decision, then the perceptions of him would be different right now. for osu fans, this just looks a lot like the jason gwaltney situation from a few years ago.

Bottom line is that it his decision and his life. A while back he couldn't have known how far along his basketball team was going to get into tournament play. New opportunities may have presented themselves along the way as well as he may have (hopefully) received some adult guidance, like his parents and coaches perhaps, that advised him to take his time.

It would be rather funny if the kid went to play at a school that he never publicly mentioned and piss off everyone. TC--- Georgia Tech!!LOL
The kid said the other day---"i am tired of waking up for school and 100 reporters are on my porch asking questions"! The pressure is mounting for the kid everyday he puts off the decision--today is the day for someone to be a happy HC!!

He could've avoided all that pressure if he would've signed in February like everybody else. I understand taking your time to make the right decision but it seems a little anticlimactic now. I want him to become a Buckeye but also hope there's not alot of baggage along with him.

OSU is not playing around-- 2008 is loaded with offensive firepower. In the 2009 class Tressel has already offered 3 of the top 5 DB's in the nation and have verbals from 2 of them and patiently waiting for Massillon's Justin Turner to join the roster. Ironically all 3 of them are from Ohio!!

Carle--- CJ barnett's dad just left my office asking when is JT Turner going to join them with verbals to OSU. I stated that UM was his favorite team but when you are a 4/5 star recruit you have many favorite teams. i think the signing will have a influence of many top prospects but JT told me pryor going to OSU doesn't make him like them any better than yesterday. JT will make this decision for his academics and skill set but not for a month or more. Other offers are also coming in from the SEC!

This is your proof?? TWO SEPARATE LINKS TO THE SAME LAME STORY??? Are you freaking kidding me...? Do you realize the difference between being "charged" with disorderly conduct, for defending a girl that another guy "touched inappropriately", and being arrested multiple times... as you put it??
If you were the young girls father, you'd be singing his praises, instead of hating him for God knows what reason. You stated he had been "arrested multiple times"
This says he was "charged", and the incident revolved around him sticking up for a young lady who was touched inappropriately...
(I thought I'd say it twice for you, so maybe it would sink in")
WOW.....
Sounds like a kid who came to a friends rescue without fear of consequence for himself to me.....
"Pryor was told he would receive a citation in the mail and was released"
Nice try
By the way Mr Integrity..... do you think you'd be singing a different tune today if Pryor had chosen the "urine and blue"
(That's a rhetorical question, in case you didn't catch it)

Funny how being jilted by an 18 year old kid brings out the UGLY side of people......
As far as JT goes, TRUE Tiger fans only want what's best for HIM, regardless of what team we support. I would love to see JT go to OSU, because I go to 5 games a year, and I've known him since he was 7. But as I told him on the phone recently..... I'll just have to root against his team every year in week 13, while hoping he has a great game

The lanky, strong-armed quarterback appeared an absolute can't-miss prospect. He boosted Michigan ahead of Ohio State in the recruiting rankings, giving U-M fans reason to dream about years of carving up the Buckeyes. He was headed for stardom.
Then Scot Loeffler hurt his shoulder. He wasn't a star. He wasn't a starter. He was a graduate assistant coach on a team guided to a national championship by a QB some considered a throw-in for the Michigan football recruiting class of 1993.
Brian Griese came to Ann Arbor with a last name, a bloodline, and no scholarship. A preferred walk-on out of Coral Gables, Fla., he carried some skills, but you could have fit his hype into a Dixie cup.
SuperPrep editor Alan Wallace tried to be kind when contacted for a comment about Michigan's "extra" QB.
"You're talking about the son of a famous quarterback who is viewed as a good quarterback," Wallace offered. "He will have to fight to be a star at Michigan."
Fight he did. Ask Griese how it all turned out, and he'll show you a massive national championship ring.
The kid Griese beat out to start that '97 season wasn't too happy about it. Then again, nobody -- except, perhaps, the Brady Bunch out of San Mateo, Calif. -- figured the Wolverines were holding back anybody special.
Tom Brady kept his mouth shut publicly, and there certainly wasn't any fan outcry for him to push Griese aside. Sure, Prep Football Report tabbed Brady as the No. 6 pro-style QB in the nation his senior year of high school, even though he completed only 53 percent of his passes in two prep varsity seasons.
But the reaction to his arrival in Ann Arbor barely warranted a text message, much less a full scale Internet meltdown.
Recruiting guru Tom Lemming's assessment wasn't even close to breathless: "A lot of people like him. His escapability and foot speed have been questioned, but he has a real good arm. He is a tall and smart kid. He is a real good quarterback who fits their system, just like Todd Collins did."
Wallace regarded Brady as "The Sleeper" of the class, noting: "Tom Brady was not heavily recruited out of San Mateo (Calif.) Serra High School. The Wolverines have a history of developing unheralded drop-back quarterbacks."
Several others shrugged about the California kid who wound up a two-year starter at Michigan, bagging a Big Ten championship as a warm up to three Super Bowl titles. Brady was also one miserable, infuriating, missed-tackle meltdown involving the "Other Manning" away from the perfect season and further NFL immortality. (Sorry, still getting over that one).
Now contrast those tepid receptions with the trumpeting of the two most heralded, can't-miss, sure-fire multiple-Heisman winners in Michigan football history.
Now, don't hate on Drew Henson. He helped deliver a Big Ten title, before grabbing 17 million "please-leave-early" bucks from big Buckeye booster George Steinbrenner. But don't try to tell anyone eight career starts matches the mania surrounding SuperDrew.
And Ryan Mallett? A Michigan football asterisk. Again, don't rip the kid. He's back home in Arkansas, trying to convince the NCAA to change its rules to accommodate his Hog-wild talent this fall. He might turn out to be a great one. He won't turn out to be a Michigan great one.
That means, the response around here is – say it with us, Coach Rod – don't care.
The point of all this? You just never know.
Maybe Terrelle Pryor will be the next Vince Young. Maybe his very presence will cause OSU starter Todd Boeckman to curl up in the fetal position somewhere in the bowels of Ohio Stadium, never to be seen again.
Maybe Pryor effortlessly extends the OSU win streak over Michigan to eight games, before moving an aging Brady aside in New England.
And maybe not.
Maybe someone in Ann Arbor will become the next Brian Griese. Maybe Steven Threet, the highly recruited, strong-armed and savvy quarterback, will step up to the challenge this fall.
Maybe another dual-threat QB will emerge to show that Pryor's rebuff isn't the end of the Rich Rodriguez era before it begins. Rodriguez wanted him, no doubt. Down the road, he'll want plenty of others, who in turn will want Michigan.
Sour grapes? Not really. Sweet reality, for anyone with a memory that isn't fixated on the most recent signing day.

What happened to Warren1st? How ya' feeling there, buddy?
I'm glad it's over. Very likely he'll be a great one. However, Michigan will find their QB next year if not having found him this year. Time will tell. One thing for sure is Michigan will do just fine.

Btw, here's a cheap shot, imho, by Bill Livingston in today's Plain Dealer:
"At the least, it is addition by subtraction. Michigan, runner-up in the recruiting derby, had no one better to run new coach Rich Rodriguez's spread offense. But Pryor chose OSU after seeing how Tressel developed Troy Smith from athlete to Heisman-winning pocket passer.
Without big early success, Rodriguez may prove to be more opportunistic than the deal that brought him from West Virginia. He just might slither away at the first better opportunity.
Good day at Ohio State, bad day Up North."

Sour grapes.
You're really grasping at straws.
You know, friend (?), anything I write you have to take a jab. Since I'm such sour grapes why do you read my posts? Better yet, put me on your "ignore list."
Btw, what job would he "slither" away to? UM is a good as it gets in football coaching.

I'm tired of when anything good happens to Ohio State that lately you always feel the need to get a shot in.
Perhaps you saw my "dig" on your warren getting screwed as well?

You're misreading me. Why, when something good happens to OSU, does someone, Livingston in this case, always have to belittle Michigan? They fought the good fight and lost. Ohio State got a potentially great player. My argument is with BL making a shot at Michigan when not necessary; nothing more nothing less.
Yes, thanks for the support you gave to WGH.

But why does that mean you have to come over to a very pro OSU site and take a shot on an OSU/TP thread? You are doing the same thing as him. It wasn't like this article was posted on any of the threads here until you brought it up.
BTW, I think it was more of a shot at RR than at UM. I see much more being said about RR than about the UM football program right now.
I can't stand RR at all. Personally I was worried about Miles going to UM and thought he could really get the series back on track and not so one-sided.

I never come down with that terrible case of "Angry Jayne." But we'll see OSU on November 22nd...Michigan will be coming for them and their prized recruit!

I give up. I wasn't taking a shot at Pryor or OSU. In fact, if you read my posts, I believe I'm quite complimentary to both. You know I come from a background that includes both schools and I guess I would just like to see more good sportsmanship from Buckeye Nation. I've been driven off roads, my son was accosted the last time we went to THE GAME in Columbus and now that the worm has turned I'm tired of the dirty looks I get for wearing my UM jacket or sweatshirt.
Pro Ohio State site? Sure it is, but I'm entitled to my opinions and postings. If not, see ya around.
Btw, RR will do just fine at UM and if you think not, you're sadly mistaken. I don't know what happened between UM and Les Miles. I can only speculate. However, RR may be a better pick in the long run as he is 10 years younger.
I find it kind of funny how every Buckeye made fun of LLLLLoyd Carr and now that he's gone all of a sudden he's a good guy and RR is just a lousy person and coach. lol!! JT is the best coach in America but don't ever take RR lightly or he'll bite ya in the fanny!

Ok, Lets stop taking shots at Michigan( even though it is fun, lol) We know Michigan wil be fine and get or develop a decent QB. Us Buckeye fans don't need to give the U of M any more reason to fuel the fire. We got Pryor, And everything is looking good. Here are the top 10 team rankings for the recruiting classes of 08 in the country.
1. Alabama
2. Notre Dame
3. Miami (Fl)
4. Ohio State - The Buckeyes landed 6- 5 star rated players to Michigans 1.
5. Georgia But Michigan on the other hand landed 14 -4 star players to
6. Michigan the Buckeyes 7. So the U. Of M. I'm sure will be fine which
7. LSU means the Bucks can't take anything for granted and
8. Florida St. still play their A-Game when they play Michigan. Remember
9. USC our Buckeyes got way over confident a couple of years
10. UCLA ago VS. Florida and we will never forget that disaster.
Lets not ever let that happen again especially with Michigan.
GO BUCKS

Michigan will be fine, I just think it will take about 3 seasons down the road (although I really hope RR fails). Getting TP would have been a big boost for Michigan, but it still would take a a year or so. They will be young and learning a new system.
It will be interesting to see what kind of playing time TP will get as a freshman. I know Florida used Tebow a good bit, but they also didn't have a running game. Will using TP in situational spots take away carries from Wells?
The biggest mistake in the national championship game, imo, was that we didn't ride Wells like we did against Michigan.

UM will be fine for sure and RR will not fail because he can flat out recruitand his conditioning program will close the gap between UM and OSu quickly!
Oh---#4 recruiting class for OSu and #6 for Um so Pryor didn't make a big differance. Some 4/5 star recruits I know would rather play against him than with him!:weightlift:
