I figured I'd wait until someone posted a thread about Tiger winning Arnies tourney but one never came. But for all who saw it already knows that Tiger sank one from 24 ft for a birdie to win by 1 stroke.
Now... we all know my stance on Tiger... but Jeez, that was a great putt. I don't think most people know how hard of a putt that was to make. That's a pure speed putt. Downhill, left to right break... most people are only trying to get it inside a foot... Tiger, obviously, was going for the win. He had perfect speed on the putt and it drops dead center of the cup. An ounce harder he misses it by 2 ft and an ounce lighter he misses it by 2 feet. A tip of the cap to him on such a hard pressure putt.

We were watching it on TV and I couldn't BELIEVE how far left he was looking. I said that there must be a ridge there that is going to make that bad boy break three feet. I had a buddy of mine there and he said when he watched the replay there is no way you could see how hard that putt actually was to make. He said live you would probably hope to get it to two feet, like you said, PB. And the speed was absolutely PERFECT. For sure, there is only ONE Eldrick Woods.

I know this sounds wrong.............. but I KNEW he was going to make it!
I watched him walk it off....... check the break........ and calmly walk up and stroke it.... Dead Center!!!!
I am done being surprised with Eldrick Woods. He has surpassed ALL of the greats.... dare I say!
Look at the stats and the ages that the people ahead of him got their 64th win. He is 7 years ahead of them already. I know the equipment is better now, but the courses are set up much tougher now as well. He is the real deal, and I for one am enjoying watching him. Everybody else is playing for second when he plays!
Hate all you want PB...... but you will have wasted your opportunity to watch the greatest in the prime of his game!!!
How lucky are we?? MJ and Eldrick, in our lifetime, at the height of their careers!!!!

Tiger will survive if I like him or not. I've said before that I admire his game.. its 2nd to none.. If he wasn't such a cry baby he'd be easy to like.
Any time I think of good golf I think back to my first solid memory of golf... watching the 86 masters with my dad.. and man was that Nicklaus something else. Here's this old man who shouldn't be playing golf like this.. tearing it up. Jack will always be the man to me.

Jack will always be the man to Tiger too. I read in the paper today where Arnie said if he were 28 and playing against these guys............... he'd "kick their butts!"
I'm not so sure about Tiger..........

Golf would be better if Tiger had competition like Jack and Arnie did.

Ah, the '86 Masters. We had just finished playing at The Elms and were in the snack bar watching. We couldn't leave because of all the drama. Stayed there until the very end. I'll NEVER forget that.
