Here's a challenge that can be done for each decade, starting with the current one: Name the Top 5 Massillon games of the 2000s (so far) and say what makes them the top 5.

1) 2005 McK (playoffs)...an almost unimaginable turn around in any sport at any level.
2) 2005 Ignatius...behind with minutes to go on the road? No problem. QB out of the game on a late hit? No problem.
3) 2002 Hoover (playoffs)...When five years later the other guys are still complaining that we ran up the score in their house, its a great game.
4) 2005 St Ed (playoffs)...Brian Gamble takes over.
5) 2002 Perry (playoffs)...Matt Martin puts him in position, and Matt Shafer breaks their hearts.

Coach Stacy's 2005 season: Iggy, McK and playoff run
All of Stacy's victories over McK
With Coach Shepas' players.
Over the crappiest McKinley teams I've EVER seen. And one took overtime over the WORST McKinley team I'd ever seen.

When a person can't even celebrate Massillon victories over McK, I think you need to check yourself.
When someone has to apologize for how they won, it's definitely time to leave town.
And the next coach will do the same if people even nitpick the victories.

Smitty's "top 5" games of the 1970s:
(in no particular order)
1974 vs McKinley: Wood to Bell upsets #1 ranked Bulldogs.
1975 vs Warren: Defending state champ Panthers got shut out 17-0.
1977 vs Gahanna Lincoln: Offenbecher to Strawder to take the lead with little time left in the game.
1970 vs McKinley: Tigers clinch state championship crown with 28-0 win.
1978 vs McKinley: down 0-10 in the 4th quarter, Offenbecher goes 17 / 20 passing & leads Tigers to 2 late TDs & the win.
Honorable Mention:
1972 vs Upper Arlington: first victory over the central Ohio power, and on the road.
1972 vs Warren: Hard fought 7-0 win over defending state champ Panthers at Mollenkopf.
1978 vs Perry: 1st game ever vs the backyard rival.

chronictiger, man you reminded me of the eds game what a great finish. I just felt like kicking that announcer in the groin man was he an a$$. the chanting of WE ARE MASSILLON gave me goose bumps. The perry game was great to as I thought we might choke away a 10 point lead. then to see perry on the field :cry:ing was great. I don't care how we beat mckinley as long as we win. The win over perry at there place after they talked junk all year about how they were better then are tigers. The other would be the beatdown in hoover field. nothing sucks like a hoover. I think those were one of the signs over there.

The year was 2000,and I believe David Abdul kicked the game winner with 19 seconds left. We just had to prevent a long kick return and hold for one play. Remember the obnoxious announcer they had up there? "TOUCHDOWN SAINT EDWARD!!!" I have that game on videotape,so whenever I want to hear that goof I dust it off and stick it in my old VCR. By the way, remember who was quarterbacking St.Ed's that night? Troy Smith, before he transferred to Glenville.

Here's a clip of audio after we won that game vs Ed's.
It's a reply to the wonderful Ed's announcer...
