Who ever said Gold was the thing that our wealth would be brought upon? I mean why cant other minerals be in place of gold? Does gold even really have a purpose, can it make anything? or is it just really pretty in the eyes of some people? Or is it that its so rare or something? do you see my point? who decided gold would be worth money?

Ah let's see...could it be that it's a precious metal and hard to find? C'mon, you can't be serious with these questions, especially if you were actually admitted into Kent State.

i understand that it is hard too find, but why was it chosen? I mean there are hundred of hard too find minerals, but oh its the gold!

Lobbs,
You'll get no satisfaction for answers to your questions from tiger football fans. If your questions were about the score to the Massillon Mckinley game in 1977 we are a great resource. However I suggest you try "googling" your questions if you want answers. We don't want to engage in deep conversation but would rather just make fun of you. WHS doesn't teach you to think outside of the stadium.
good luck!
PS
watch how fast somebody will post that 1977 score just to prove how big a fan they are. :)

I beg to differ. Lobbs received some rather intelligent posts in answer to one of his questions in his thread "how would you all feel", of which Wheat City's was most tolerant and impressive.
However, I gotta feeling lobbs is looking more for replies in the name of killing the mid-winter doldrums rather than looking for satisfaction derived from deep conversation on this website. Which is fine. I also don't think posters are necessarily making fun of him, but rather fun "with him", as he with us:wink:

For real, Dude, you must be mistaken.
The opposite of doldrums as used in this instance would be swirling insanity.
You would want to be somewhere in betwixt the two, otherwise you would be doomed to live locked up in an Obie Wan mind.

OK, Chump, you better take back most of what you just said---
First of all, didn't you go to Perry? (That should be enough said, right there.)
Might I remind you that our kids KICKED ASS in Academic Challenge this year on every high-falutin suburb team except Perry, and they only got us by one stinkin' little point?
Secondly, you said "we" when referring to Massillon Football Fans. Just to clarify, are you one of us now, or are you a pretender?
Thirdelly, WTF do you mean when you say that "WHS doesn't teach you to think outside the stadium"?
Dude, them is FIGHTIN' WORDS!
If you knew the first thing about WHS, the curriculum and the arts programs there, you would talk out the other side of your mouth.
Now take it back, before the moderators brand you with something not nice and banish your butt to the hinterlands.
BTW---sometime just for yucks, you'all grab up Lobbs and and anudder crony or two, and meet up with Obie Wan, Banks, Kamd50, Al., GoTigers1, Catts44 and me---and we'll just see who can bury whom in abstract convo real fast!

Dig it. its no secret, I'm no football fan, but rather a fan of the football fans. I think its really cool that a whole town can come together so passionately for handful of high school football players. Thats what's awesome.
and yeah I stand behind my remarks, isn't this a "Massillon Proud" forum? Doesnt this whole thing exist because of what goes on in that stadium?
Sorry if you took offense I didnt mean it that way. I just thought it was funny.
oh and yeah I went to Perry, but that was a long time ago and holds little bearing on my identity, its a lot different if you went to WHS though right?
I mean people get freakin' tattoos of Obie! Thats commitment!
I say "We" cause I got an account on this forum just like everyone else here.
We are way off topic now anyway. :offtopic: I dont want to start a flame war. Chill Dragon-man, its just a forum.
WHS has got a great Art program, I've worked with the teachers and students before. I'm not bashing or throwing any hate around, it doesnt mean much to me, but if you really want to keep score... here are the facts man...

I would guess that DTN was just messing with you, except:
1. Now that you told him to "chill", he, like most older men, will react by doing just the opposite,
and
2. He may have been gently suggesting to you that we on MP are offended by offhand remarks such as the one you made about our students not being taught to "think outside the stadium".
It was funny, but not true.
And...please stick around till you get used to us.

Wow. Thanks.
FYI - Yellow Jesus Turds were valued because the gold color was symbolism for the sun. On a practical level, gold melts at a low level and is relatively easy to work with - thus, can be formed into any number of things.
