So, did I hear this right. The half-Muslim's half-Muslim wife spewed that this is the first time she's ever been proud of America? When her husband decided to run for President.
Sure wish I would have known that. A couple of my friends have planes that would have escorted her azz anywhere she would have wanted to go. Nice one there, Michelle. What next? The Berlin Wall coming down was a travesty? Freeing women from the Taliban was criminal? God, how idiotic. I never thought I would be saying this, but perhaps Billary is right. Perhaps these two yahoos ARE too inexperienced to occupy the White House.

It is a great time in America when we can openly elect a black man for the Democratic nominee for President.
I am rying to figure out how does attending a muslim school for 2 years make Barrack Obama a muslim? From researching his educational background he is a well educated diversed man. How about his Harvard law degree or his wifes as well!!!
I guess some of you want him to be assasinated before he gets in the White House!!!!! BTW---he's going to win!!!

AMEN! Monte. I wholeheartedly agree with you and it would appear that 10 states in a row are agreeing with you. This man is awesome. Instead of believing the lies about him---try getting some books from the library about him. He is a story of America and we should all be proud. Dumped by his father at the age of 2, brought up by his mother and grandparents, going to college and law school and excelling while there---that is a real American story.

WELL SAID Tiger54 and Monte! The Obama buzz is getting louder. Soon it will even drown the empty insults being made by those who don't want to see someone with a black face or diverse background leading the nation best known for its multicultural make-up and diversity. He's had my vote from day 1 and today I feel even better about it.
I listened with great interest yesterday at a lunch in a very affluent community known for its strong republican make-up to Ex CIA and FBI Director (Reagan appointed), William Webster. He shared his very negative opinion about the current administration, their practices and mistakes, and the need for our country to elect someone like Barrack Obama to begin rebuilding trust and respect from the rest of the world. This is a well known and influential national figure, who currently serves as the co-chairman of the Homeland Security Committee! I choose to trust his credibility and perspective and will vote for Obama.

Obama's speech in Texas last night was truly inspirational. He is sending a message of hope and people are jumping on the band wagon. I like the fact that he is not resorting to dirty politics in his campaign. He's focusing on what he wants to do as President and really thinks he can change the status quo. I believe he can.

If Obama had a brain in his head (or his wife a cast iron skillet) he would admonish this obama girl crap. Lord only knows where he was or what he was into last time Democrats had office, but they probably dont need to add to the stigma.
Is she hot though, geesh.

FYI, it's quite possible to vote for someone other than Obama for reasons that have nothing to do with his racial heritage.
Obama's speech in Texas last night was truly inspirational. He is sending a message of hope and people are jumping on the band wagon.
As he starts to flesh out his policies, his message is less inspirational and more frightening. Frankly, it's becoming pretty obvious that behind the bromides and platitudes and rhetoric, this guy has a very tenuous grip on reality. No income tax for seniors making less than $50,000? Close Guantanamo and give foreign terrorists full access to our legal system? $4000 to every student? Negotiate from strength while withdrawing troops?
I've heard the "vision thing', and I understand it. However, the force behind it is more troubling. Listen to what he says - behind the hope, behind the promise, his is a dark world, indeed. He speaks poorly and critically of everyone but himself. He is portraying himself as a savior. It really is becoming the cult of Obama. The more he speaks, the more it's becoming less accurate to speak of idealism and more accurate to speak of indoctrination.
Man, I wish I thought differently. But at some point, you have to check your emotions and use your brains. And my brains tell me that behind the hope and the sunshine and the togetherness, there's an undercurrent of venom in his campaign, there's a strain of acrimony in his philosophy, and there's an unholy mix of naiveté and rancor in his outlook.

I believe Obama is a good man and inspirational, but he is short on specifics on how to bring about the change he speaks of. In times of trouble, the idea of change is refreshing and seems to offer hope. However, you have to ask yourself, What kind of change? and How will it all change? I think democrats are so excited to finally have such an inspirational popular candidate that they are willing to overlook some glaring weaknesses, not the least of which is a complete lack of experience and a platform that is weak and mostly unrealistic. I believe Obama will be an easy target for John McCain. Like him or not (I do) McCain is very specific about what he believes and has specific plans to implement his ideas. This will stand in stark contrast to the fuzzy, "yes we can" campaign. The battle will be epic!

Bill Clinton was a decent president. At least if the dems nominate Hillary, you will be getting a 2 for 1 deal !!
I doubt that it matters who represents the democratic party. Some people will never vote for a woman, and some will never vote for a black. This bodes well for ANY republican that oppses them. ( CarlE will be safe !!)
And for the black voters to back Obama, just because he is black, is rather pathetic. And for women to back Hillary, just because she is a woman, is equally as pathetic.

Used to express surprise, exasperation, etc. She never said that she wasn’t proud to be an American; she said for the first time, she is TRULY proud of my country. BIG DIFFERENCE! But, the Republicans need to do what they can to make her look bad just like they did with John Kerry.

Is it your assuption that blacks will vote for Barrak Obama because he is black or Hillary Clinton because she is a woman? If so, that statement is pathetic for you to make because that means you are assuming that some woman and blacks lack the mindset and intelligence to vote for the best candidate. Right now from listening to all the debates and speeches inbetween sportscenter and watching Law and order I feel Barrack is the best candidate to change our Country for the better. 2 years of Senete experience or not he beats Mccain and Hilliry's message IMO!
If Massillon doesn't give BJ and interview because of 2 years experience as a HC we are just as stupid as America if we think Obama cannot do better than the current administration.

Just face it that a black man is strong enough and has the intelligence to run America. It's benneth you to say blacks lack intelligence or mindset because you are a Republican is BS. November may be just 9 months away, but in politics it is an eternity. I do believe Clinton would be harder to beat than Obama, but there is time for McCain to play to his strengths. Also, we don't know what world events will take place in the future. Any type of terrorist or military issue which may come up, will only underline the lack of experience of Obama as compared to McCain. Either way, the election is going to be tight. With the exception of your first sentence this is a great post. It doesn't take a depression or being on the verge of one to see that all races are effected. Now I know you have been to Massillon/Canton in the past 5 years and see that the economic crisis is effecting every race. If you don't see that, then you aren't looking outside of your race and feeling sorry for it. We shouldn't feel sorry for those who don't work, quit, don't try because they think they are being held back by some other race.

You haven't described anything that makes it harder because you're white. You've described an economy problem.
That would be like me saying you will never understand how hard it is to be white
It was your claim...back it up.
First off read the quote. Did you read it. Now you should see that I was saying that it isn't right to say how hard it is to be something based on you being of another race. I was using what you are quoting as an example. Life is hard, there are advantages and disadvantages for all races. For someone in today's society to say that one race has it more difficult than anohter is absolutely rediculous.

All I am trying to get across to you is that blacks in America are and were being passed over for those same jobs when the economy is/was booming. I never stated that we should help anyone using race as an excuse not to get up and take a piece of the American dream. However, I will not sit hear and say some whites have not been held back blacks because of race because I know it is true and factual. just like I know all races have quitters and people who are looking for handouts. I work in givt. public services and I see a variety of all races and people everyday.
Since when has/was the playing field level for all races? NEVER! Now some treat hispanics like blacks were treated in the 20-70's! What's the differance? Same old racism just brown and not black this decade!
Obama is for all America and that is why he gets my vote.

The same thing happens to whites, it's all based on the hiring companies preferences. As rediculous as that is it is true. Just like there are scholarships for blacks that aren't available for whites, it's the same thing.

So what you're saying is...you can't back it up.
Go figure.
Sure, everybody is going through rough times economically. That speaks nothing of the additional issues facing blacks STILL today that whites will never experience firsthand or understand completely.
If you say that there are no additional issues that blacks still have to face, then you obviously believe that racism is non-exist. If that's the case, then there is no point in continuing.

Do you want me to give you firsthand knowledge of white people having issues when walking through a black neighborhood and getting taunted and what not. I can if you would like, or bosses needing to hire african americans that aren't as qualified as others just because of equal opportunity? No, being a woman isn't easy. Never once did I say it was. But I've had pretty much zero issues that can be attributed to my race.

JIG IS UP
The phrase "the jig is up" surfaced more than 200 years ago. The exact origin is unknown, with speculation ranging from the end of a musical performance to the removal of a fishing line (a jig) from water – although the anglers' term didn't catch on until the 1860s, so this seems unlikely.
Some scholars believe it originally referred to the end of either a trick or game, since the word jig (sometimes spelled gig) had acquired this meaning by the time Shakespeare was writing plays.
The first recorded use of "the jig is over" appeared in 1777. About 20 years later, a Philadelphia newspaper published the earliest known version of our current expression – throwing in an extra "g" (the jigg is up) for good measure.
What does "the jig is up" imply today? The Canadian Oxford defines it as a scheme that's been "revealed or foiled," while Webster's suggests it means "all chances for success are gone" – especially when applied to "risky or improper" strategies.
The gigantic Oxford English Dictionary broadens the scope to "the game is up, it's all over." The Gage Canadian Dictionary says the expression is slang for "it's all over; there's no more chance," and The Houghton Mifflin Canadian Dictionary of the English Language offers a similar entry: "the game is up; all hope is gone."
As with many words and phrases, then, there is a spectrum of meaning. What's obvious, however, is that "the jig is up" could easily be uttered with conviction by a disgruntled Alliance MP who believes that "it's all over" for the party if the leader doesn't quit.

He says he wants to foster cooperation between Democrats and Republicans. Give one example of a bipartisan legislative initiative that he led while in the Senate.
