Why did the Wales Road Pizza Hut close?

Was driving down Wales Road this past week and saw "Location Closed" on the white message sign and the entire Pizza Hut sign spray painted black.

Then while driving down LWE, the Pizza Hut sign there says "Welcome Wales Road Pizza Hut employees" (or something to that effect).

Anyone here know someone who works there?

Old store, low business, bad location, no real ability to upgrade, and proximity to other pizza huts combined with all the other local pizza places.

Those may be a lot of the factors. Quite frankly I am surprised it lasted this long.

Aultman also is buying out all the property over there.

Personaly, I like the Wales Location better than the Lincoln Way one IMO.

Kraus's is stil servin em up pipin hot. My first stop when I come to Ohio. Krauses Pizza. 832-2242. Thats how many I have ordered. That number is permanetely ingrained.

One of he waitresses that moved over to the Lincoln Way location said Aultman was the culprit, I'm with you GT1 I liked the Wales location better also.

Maybe they closed because their pizzas were awful...That's only my opinion though, and you know what they say about opinions!!!

My wife really enjoy Pizza Hut pizza. I'll give it a 4.5. But the thing that got me was that whenever there was a national ad for a special, every time I would order it they (Wales road) would never honor the ad. Well after the last time that happened I told my wife that we're not going there any more. Now you know the real reason of their closing-----my fault.

Kraus' and South Erie :) I grew up in the house directly behind South Erie Pizza.

Anytime we're in Massillon I gotta have a square pie :)

I'm sorry if this was brought up before. I was in Massillon over the weekend to visit my folks and my Mom told me the Pizza Hut closed. I couldn't believe it. I had to drive by. Sure enough. It is closed. When did this happen? Why?

That Pizza Hut held so many post-game memories. It will be missed.

I don't believe Aultman has purchased nor are they the culprit.

This was just a rumor (probably started by the landlord to prop up the property price), much like the rumor of Aultman buying Canton Center a couple of years back.

I got my Kraus' when I was in town. I either get a large mushroom/green pepper or those two toppings in the double crust. Yum!

The Pizza Hut building is for sale for $275,000.


In the Realtor's general remarks, it states that "no other pizza establishment can operate at that location".


It also states, "Either the building needs to be razed or the identity of the building as a Pizza Hut has to be completely changed."

Pizza Hut is under the Hallrich Inc company that owns Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC, so your claim has no credibility.
