Man, 96, on mission to promote his music
Leonard Burkhard of Akron dreams of getting song performed worldwide
Excerpt:
"Leonard was just 14 when he began writing and playing piano in Akron burlesque houses. It also was the age that he was contemplating going into the ministry. But he never settled behind the pulpit. Instead, when a neighbor offered him a job as a printer, Leonard jumped at the chance.
As a tyke, Leonard became the sole support of his family of six after his father fell from a scaffold. He delivered newspapers, milk, worked at a drugstore and hawked magazines. He even played piano to silent movies at the Orpheum."...................
This gentleman's live is truely an inspiration, God bless him. And not bad looking at all for 96:angel: It would be great if some organization or individual would donate a small electric keyboard to him so that he could still enjoy making music in his home.
