But in all seriousness that is a crazy back end. I know we want to win them all but 3-1 in those would be huge Ignatious is loaded, Mentor is coming of back to back incredible seasons Warren was all sophomores last year so I expect improvement and the bulldogs are the bulldogs.

Mentor will not be nearly as tough as the past 2 years and we can handle them if prepared. WGH is a year away from being a serious contender again and I look for them to make a run in 2009.
it seems to me that if our players and coaches are truly dedicated to winning and building a superior team---NO WAY we should not be at least 7-1 going into the Mentor game. No way we do not make the playoffs with the core of players we have returning but THEY HAVE TO WNAT IT AND TAKE IT!!!
However---the herbie will always be a tough game to prepare for.

It wouldn't have mattered if we had not have let a sub-par team(in regards to massillon) handle us all over the field!!
We cannot continue to lose to sub-par teams and expect to make the playoffs. We looked unprepared for a few games the past few years IMO.

Good point Monte. The Tigers have looked unprepared a few times. This was especially apparant in the Solon game.I dont understand why though.I think Stacy does a good job at least talking the talk during game week.Even making cup cakes out to be something to be feared.Somehow it doesnt show in the kids on the field though.
This may have something to do with the kids on the team the last 2 years. When I read in spring both years about the lack of effort in the weightroom,I wasnt planning on any championships.

Then you must have been at another game that week, or maybe you missed they way our band was treated when they were waiting to take the field for halftime, or maybe you missed they way they were being treated while they were on the field, or when the came off the field. Or maybe you just wernt there, because i was and i wasnt very impressed with the way their fan base treated us while we were there.

On the other hand I did meet some really nice poeple before the game at the tailgate, but I would say the bulk of them acted without any class once they got inside the stadium.
It was like being in Mentor or in Warren.

I know for a fact that the 2006 team was prepared and worked hard everyday. I personally worked out and traveled the Country with 25% of the seniors and they had a will to win. Now IMO the juniors(seniors this year) lacked the work ethic to put us over the hump. The Robert Morris's, Huffman's, A. James, T. Ellis, etc,... were replaced with talented kids but lacked the work ethic. I had to hear all year(06) that the returning players from the defense(BG, Saunders\, Daily, and McGuire) had to do more coaching on the field than other teams and that hurt us. Many, mant times we had players out of position due to inexperience rather than skill.

I don't recall any disrespect that week in Parma.
Their fans where yelling overrated and some of their students where cussing in the face of band members. I don't just want to win but I want to humialate that team.

We were overrated last year.
I believe the band lined up on the HOME side and since we were on the visitors side I guesss I couldn't hear what was being said by their students but is funny how this only happens when we lose.

why do we have to boo hoo all of the time especially when we lose. why can't we just take an ass whopping like we got and move on.
personally i don't care what they called us or how they looked at us, all i care about is how the game ended and it wasn't pretty.
maybe you should gather up all of the "wrong doers" and give them a lecture.

I live up here in Parma and yes they can get cocky so to say. But isn't that pretty much every high school student and high school football fan in Ohio? Nobody can say that we're innocent either. Take your lumps, learn from them, and remember what it felt like when we left their field last year. And make damn sure we make them feel that same way next year. :stars:
Back to Normandy, my fiance is from Parma Sr and she said yes they are very cocky. They have one or two good years every decade, so they get extra pumped when their on those good streaks. As for the students chanting overrated. Who hasnt yelled that? How about when we beat Ed's or Iggy, I for one know I was yelling it when nobody thought we had a chance of beating them. Has anybody ever heard those student sections from Cincinnati? With a couple thousand kids, they can get some pretty vulgar chants going that ring throughout the stadium.

I guess we are back to the question....who is the genius who allows our band to line up in front of the visitor student section prior to taking the field?.......and dont give me this...its rocket science, its the only way it can be done junk.......and BTW, has anyone ever sat in the middle of a Massillon crowd...LOL!

Taken from the Inde's Massillon/Utah article:
"That leaves just a Week Seven opening on Massillon’s 2008 schedule. Washington High athletic director Tim Ridgley said early last week that a deal was close on filling that void, but that school officials preferred to wait until a new coach is hired before divulging the entire schedule."

I'm confident that Mr. Ridlgey is doing the right thing and will have a solid oppenent for week seven. I agree with him to wait til the new coach is hired. Keep in mind that Mr. Ridgley is not only scheduling games but also on the committee to hire a new coach. Good job, guys. Keep up the good work and bring us home a winner!

Considering season ticket orders form was mailed last year on April 2, 2007, that doesn't give much time before 2008 season will be sent out.
Note: With the season starting August 22nd we have 158 days until the first game not 165 as the front page states.

I can read between the lines that a schedule is complete and that it will not be made completely PUBLIC until the new HC is in place. Who cares who we play anyway---I am just glad that we have 10 teams to play every year of medium to high caliber for playoff preperation! Some teams cannot do that consistantly without league play.

Remember, in addition to scheduling games. Mr. Ridgley is also in charge of the state championships here at Massillon as well as being on the committee to hire the new coach. All of these tasks are very important to the program. We shouldnt expect or demand that they do something "over-night just to get a result. Everything will work out. We will have a great schedule and a great coach. I cant wait for my season-ticket order form. Go Tigers!

Man, I don't see the logic here. If the deal is done and the contract signed, why would the date of the announcement matter? OTOH, if it's just an agreement and not a contract, then perhaps we're leaving the door open for the new coach to punt this game and sign a different school. And in that case, I would think our undisclosed opponent would be well served to line up a concrete commitment from a different school rather than run the rick of scrambling for a game this summer.

We will have to discuss this in the morning. I'm still slightly under the weather and not quite ready to tackle the absurdness of this whole thing.
