CarlE,

Why don't you get my dad's number and tell him about how you think Joe Calzaghe is a "gutless, limey coward." My dad knows him inside and out because he has seen him fight in many fights! You need to give that man his respect...he's been the super middleweight champion for 11 years. 11 YEARS!!!! Uncontested, untied, undefeated!

TigerBuckeye313,

Roy Jones dominated a rusty Trinidad as expected. You can't be out of the ring for three years and expect to be who you were at the time of peaking. Jones next opponent may be the winner of the Calzaghe-Bernard Hopkins fight if it comes off this year.

How many times has the limey coward fought over here?

CarlE,

It doesn't matter where Calzaghe has fought at. Anytime you can go undefeated and unify the division by defeating two knockout artists in Jeff Lacy and Mikkel Kessler...that is an accomplishment in it's own right.

Calzaghe has turned back all challengers. He's already proven that he doesn't have to fight in the U.S. just to be the best in what he does!

Unfortunately this is a fight that should hve happened years ago. I'm not a big fan of either, but they both are well past their primes.

I also hear that DeLahoya and Mayweather are getting together again this year in September, hopefully Oscar gets it done this time.

Actually, until he DOES fight in the U.S. he hasn't proven jack-crap to me.

Carle,
Calzaghe is a paper champion like most of the title holders. He will not face ANY MAJOR opponents outside his hometown--why is he scared to leave for the big $$$$ bouts in the US?

Keno,
Jones was to fast and powerful for Trinidad in the end but at least came to fight all night. The older fighters give better fights because they are not chicken $hit to fight the top 10 fighters! SAD that these young studs are afraid to take a few licks to prove they are the best! In defense of Jones most big caliber opponents waited until after he was 35 before they would fight him---same with B. Hopkins! Scary boxers robbed them of alot of big fights being SCARED!

proud to be---- De La Hoya will lose again to Mayweather unless the refs are on the take. Last fight one fef had Oscar up by 8 points which is rahter funny and proves that most scoring fights are idiots!

monte81,

Calzaghe a paper champion? Not when he has unified all three belts at super middleweight. I was on a boxing forum and a guy once said that "Calzaghe slaps with his punches." Tell that to the 44 guys he has defeated and knocked out 32. Anyway, Calzaghe is slated to fight Bernard Hopkins in the U.S. I believe in April. More on that later...

I did like your analysis of the Jones-Trinidad fight. You couldn't have been more on target with your synopsis.
