This brings back a question I've always had. Why do they make cars that can go faster than 75 mph anyways?

At 2:43AM on his birthday LBJ was probably on his way home to Bath, Ohio! if all they find on this young stud is a speeding ticket then oh well. Pay the ticket and move on and he was not drinking or blitzed so that is a good thing.

I could be wrong, but aren't there laws regarding being so far over the speed limit? Maybe he has to go to court because it was so far over the speed limit (36MPH over)?
Could it be reckless op? Maybe it's possible to lose his license and that's why he contesting?
Don't know for sure.

Why wouldn't they say he was cited for reckless op instead of or along with speeding? Is that something that will come out of the court proceedings?

i'm sure they did cite him for reckless op. i can't imagine how or why they wouldn't when he was travelling over 100 mph.
i know a guy who was stopped doing 84 in a 55. he had his license suspended for one month.
the ORC outlines the rules for suspension of a license for reckless op in sectino 4510.20. you have to cross reference this with 4510.02.

i can see this as a new trend. drunk drivers will now plead that they had 12 beers before getting behind the wheel, but that they can down a case of beer so they were only drinking half of what they could handle.
what a stupid excuse. believe me, when you're going 100+ mph, you know that you're not doing the speed limit.

Lebron is getting blasted in the national media for getting picked up for speeding. Apparently he replied that it's no big deal when asked about it in an interview and wouldn't guarantee that he wouldn't do it again. He isn't a trouble maker and doesn't cause problems on his team and seems to set a good example for the way a high profile athlete should act. Why are some sportscasters attacking him for speeding? He shows maturity beyond his years but he is still a young guy out having some fun. What is the big deal?

b/c of lebron's blatant disregard for the safety of others. he's engaging in willful misconduct.

it's one thing to do something stupid like that, an put the lives of others in jeopardy. to just brush it off is incredibly immature. if he ever hits and kills someone he's in serious trouble. hopefully it won't have to come to that to make him screw his head on a little tighter.

Because that's the only thing they can attack him for.

Ya know what Monte? Sometimes you post with your head up your butt.
You come on these forums touting all about how the kids need example and leadership from someone that understands the Black community.
You know darn well that the number one challenge facing young Black athletes is learning to either keep it in their pants or wear protection.
I won't list the Black kids from Massillon that have messed up their futures this way during just the last few years, but you know it is an impressive list.
You have even been open about your own mistakes at that age.
If you were being consistant here, you would be FURIOUS with James for setting such a pathetic example for our kids.
He is lucky because he can afford it.
Can the Massillon kids say the same thing?
How many more little Black children will grow up with no father in their lives everyday, or sufficient financial support because of the example James is setting for young Black males?
Quite frankly, I don't want anyone with such an attitude having any influence over our young Black men in Massillon.

Judge not, lest ye be judged.
Please PLEASE tell me that you were kidding.
Self righteous, arrogant, so-called Christians often spout off that little snippet of Scripture taken totally out of context.
Here is the total text:
Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Most passages in the Bible that refer to not judging people, when read in their wider context, clearly refer to not judging people hypocritically or arbitrarily according to human rules or opinions (eg: see Matthew 7:1-6,15-22; Romans 14:1 cf v10,13; etc.)
There is plenty of Scripture that tells us it is OK to judge as long as it is by or according to God's revealed standards in His Word.
For example, John 7:24 states: "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment". God's righteousness is revealed in His Word, so it follows we are to judge by it. Hence, it is clear from even this one passage that there is a superficial judging which is forbidden, and a godly judging which is commanded and commended.
Put quite simple for you:
Obie Wan was not guilty of judgement, as long as he holds himself to the same standard.
You, on the other hand, crossed the line as soon as you spouted off to him about judging others.

I didn't say anything that LBJ did was correct or good for youth that look up to him. I as a parent and mentor teach youths to wear protection and protect your futures. Ask JT Turner what I talk to him about around once a week. School, sports, staying out of trouble, and NOT to have babies.
I made the comment because LBJ has made some mistakes but that doesn't mean his kids are bastards. My mother has never been married so I am a bastard as well to you and Obie Wan---if you called me a bastard we would have a BIG PROBLEM. LBJ does more for the black community just by giving back in Akron/Cleveland to make up for having 2 kids without a ring!! He shows the kids that he had 2 children, lives with the woman, and has been with her since he was a freshman at St.V's---sounds alittle like loyalty to me since he could have 95% of the woman in America. If your children or any children are using pro athletes as a role model that is mistake#1
Charles Barkley---"I am not a role model"!!! that is so true for most professionals.
Have you ever done anything against the bible teachings in your life???
BTW---the #1 thing wrong with the black community is drugs! #2 is my mother raised 4 kids and we have 3 degrees and another on the way! i guess bastrd kids can make it as well!!!LOL

Which would be your problem. The word "bastard" has a specific meaning; children born of unmarried parents are bastards. I can see how one might not like being called a bastard, but if you think that there's something shameful, disgraceful, or insulting about the correct usage of the word, the blame for your anger lies with the people who created the child.
BTW---the #1 thing wrong with the black community is drugs!
Actually, the single biggest predictor (transcending race, income, education, etc.) of adolescent behavioral problems (drugs, crime, pregnancy, etc.) is coming from a single-parent home.

I am not angry about nothing but just don't see what he did driving has to do with his mother not marrying his father. being a bastard child as you call it made LBJ, myself, and others I know alot stronger than the average person. So what is your excuse for Dahmer, Mike Vick, Bill Clinton, etc,... who have both biological parents but still commit sins against GOD!
Not all single parents have bad kids and go on to become leaders. The worst are the spoiled ones who think they have it all but fall dead on their faces when challenged to accomplish something without mom and dad!

LeBron Signs Sponsorship Deal With Insurance Company
CLEVELAND -- LeBron James has teamed up with a good neighbor.
The Cavaliers' All-Star forward has signed a sponsorship agreement with State Farm insurance, which is hoping the popular 23-year-old can help it attract young adult policy holders...The insurance provider said the speeding ticket had no bearing on its decision to team up with James.
