Seen the article at work but can't find the link for it now. I am surprised that nobody has posted a link for it. Anyways, Tressel sat down with the Ravens for 4 hours and interviews for the head coaching job.

NFL
Ravens to interview Browns offensive coordinator

By TOM WITHERS

Associated Press
CLEVELAND—Browns offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski, who turned Cleveland's offense into one of the NFL's most potent attacks, will interview for the Baltimore Ravens coaching vacancy.
Browns general manager Phil Savage confirmed late last night that the Browns had granted the Ravens' interview request.

It is not known when the 39-year-old Chudzinski will meet with the Ravens, who fired Brian Billick on Monday after a lackluster 5-11 season, his ninth in Baltimore.

Under the 39-year-old Chudzinski, the Browns had two 1,000-yard receivers (Braylon Edwards, Kellen Winslow) and a 1,000-yard rusher (Jamal Lewis). Quarterback Derek Anderson, who began the season as a backup, threw 29 touchdown passes.

The Browns averaged 25.1 points and 351.3 yards per game.

Chudzinski was San Diego's tight ends coach for two seasons before joining Romeo Crennel's staff last January. Cleveland's offense carried the Browns, who were coming off a 4-12 season, to a 10-6 record, and they barely missed making the AFC playoffs.

Chudzinski was Cleveland's tight ends coach in 2004 under Butch Davis. Before joining the Browns, he spent 10 seasons at the University of Miami, his alma mater, where he coached Winslow.

Just got off of Bucknuts.com and spoke to a moderator. JT was in Cali this morning for a coach's convention. No truth to this rumor, according to that site

Trust me, Jim Tressel will RETIRE some year way down the road from OSU when he wants to. He has his dream job and his salary isn't too shabby either.

Ravens interview Tressel for coaching vacancy
Associated Press
Updated: January 10 2008, 10:26 PM EST
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) – Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Jim Tressel met for four hours with Baltimore Ravens officials on Thursday morning as the team's latest candidate for its head coaching job. Tressel was the sixth candidate to interview for the vacancy created last week when owner Steve Bisciotti fired Brian Billick and his entire staff after nine seasons.
"I don't think there's any one way to prepare to be an NFL head coach," Tressel said before leaving Ravens headquarters. "I don't think you're an NFL coach until you become an NFL head coach and you find out what your style is. Everybody applies their experiences, their talents, their efforts and then you see what happens. Andy Reid was never even a coordinator before being a head coach and he's one of the best in the league."
Since becoming Ohio State's 22nd head football coach, his team has won a National Championship, achieving the first 14-0 season record in major college football since Penn went 15-0 in 1897. He has an overall record of 73-15, including four Big Ten Conference championships, a 4-3 bowl record and a 6-1 record against arch-rival Michigan. The Ravens also have interviewed Indianapolis Colts assistant head coach Jim Caldwell; Dallas Cowboys assistant head coach Tony Sparano; Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett; recently dismissed Baltimore defensive coordinator Rex Ryan; and New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.
" Three candidates have declined to interview with the Ravens: New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz and Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski.
Ryan interviewed Tuesday for the Miami Dolphins' coaching position after meeting Monday with the Atlanta Falcons.

I knew it was just a matter of time before JT started getting major looks from NFL teams. he is a better coach IMO than Saban, Patrino, etc,... and they got a chance. However, I think JT makes alittle over $2mil at OSU and is built the program back from the Copper days. I thought he was content with the Buckeyes but you never know. DIaa nationial Championship, BCS Nationial Champions...... maybe he wants a crack at the NFL! You dont interview with you are not interested.

Thanks for the clarification Stern. It wouldn't surprise me if he did interview for an NFL job though.
