There is a difference.

Hoover gets crushed by Massillon in football...and then complains for years about transfers. "If Massillon didnt have all those illegal transfers, we would beat them."

Massillon just says, "Bring 'em on."

Hoover says, "We wont play Massillon because they accept transfers."

Massillon says, "Bring 'em on."

Tigers made a statement win tonight with the victory over North Canton Hoover. This Hoover team is one of the favorites to get out of Canton this season. Massillon lead troughout the game, except for one lead change late in the game. Massillon held the advantage at the end of the first quarter 15-9, and at halftime 26-20. In the third quarter the Tigers started pulling away from North Canton and had there biggest lead of the night after a basket in the lane by Dorie Irvin. Irvin was also fouled on the play, plus Randy Montgomery, the North Canton head coach received a technical foul for arguing the he travelled, resulting in three free throws. Dorie made three out of the four to make the score 40-25 Massillon. After that North Canton came right back and at the end of three quarters of play Massillon still lead 44-36. North Canton slowly got the lead down further, and further. until they took a 1 point lead at 59-58 lead late in the game on a shot by former tiger Jared Porrini. Massillon received foul shots at the end after this lead and I believe if memory serves that they made 6 out of 9 or 10. Leading the scoring for Massillon was Dorie Irvin who had 24 point, Justin Turner had 17, Gio Caracillo had 8. For North Canton JD Elder had 19 points, Jared Porrini had 12 points, and coming off the bench Freshman Nyles Evans had 11 points. Massillon shot 23-41 from the floor for 56 percent, 1 of 4 in three pointers, and shot 17 of 29 free throws for 59%. North Canton Hoover shot 21 of 46 for 46% from the floor, including 7 of 16 three-pointers, and 10 of 16 free throws. Tigers win 64-59.

The Tigers take on the road tomorrow night at Canton Central Catholic. Central is 2-3 on the season so far. They have defeated Cleveland Horizon Science and Akron Kenmore, but since then have lost to Smithville, Apple Creek Waynedale, and Cuyahoga Falls Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy all on the road. They were to play at Perry last Saturday, but with the snow, the game was cancelled. Hope to see all you Tiger fans make the trip tomorrow night at Canton Central Catholic..... Go Tigers.....

Since coming home from school for Christmas break were 2-1 and besides the 2nd half vs Timken were pretty darn good from what I can see. The crowd just seems kinda "unMassillon" this year the students are still loud but the adults just kinda sit there and don't yell much but that was the game i've been most proud to be a Tiger fan since beating st eds. Can't wait for them to play at Ashland since it will only be a 2 minute drive. I really think we can make some noise in the tournament.

Tigers were firing on all cylinders throughout much of the game last night and ran their sets well.Looks like they're beginning to come around. The only thing I saw that they had trouble with was guarding Hoovers three-point shooters, who were launching a lot of long-distance shots, but Massillon played a lot of good, smothering defense. Can't wait to see how they do against McKinley.Good luck at Central tonight.
