For those of you of did not hear, my former freshman football coach Chuck Richards suffered a stroke at the game on saturday. I don't have a status on his current condition but hopefully everything will be okay. Mr.Richards is a great man, a great father, and is a great role model, so keep him in your prayers. Thank you

My daughter just spoke to Mr. Richards today on the telephone. He is still in the hospital in Cinci. They did some tests I guess, to try and find out why the stroke occured. But he said he feels fine, except for some apparent minor complications that occur regarding his speech.
It actually occured the next morning when his group was checking out of the hotel to head on home. Keep him in your prayers for a quick recovery!

I've known "Chucky" since we were both kids and ran around the same neighborhoods together. To hear that a friend my age has suffered something like this is a real shock.
Chuck, my thoughts and sincere hopes of a quick recovery are with you. Get well and get home soon buddy.

Although I don't know coach Richards, I can relate to his situation; I experienced a stroke at 8:35AM on April 4, of 2005. I have since recovered to 95% of where I was before the stroke. My point being, there is hope leading back to a quality life. Had to go though 3 months occupational, and physical therapy, and made some life style changes(eating habits- one facet to help lower high LDL cholesterol; and physical exercise-lots of walking to improve cardio-vascular system). I'm on a statin(Vytorin10/20) for cholesterol and Lisinopril(10mg) for blood pressure. The neurologist has me taking three 1000mg fish oil capsules/day for omega-3 intake; he was very insistent on me taking the fish oil and said most ALL people could benefit from taking them. I hope some of what I wrote here is of some usefulness. Chuck, feel free to PM me if I can be of any help. You will be in our prayers.

He is supposed to be coming home on Thursday. It's bad enough to have something like this happen, but to be 4 hours away from home and family (although I understand his wife is there) of course, just makes it that much worse for all of them. I really pray he overcomes this quickly.
