Last night, Floyd Mayweather Jr. added to his reputation with a 10th-round TKO of Ricky Hatton to retain his WBC welterweight championship. Mayweather ran his record to 39-0-25 KO's while Hatton, from Britain, fell to 43-1-31 KO's. Mayweather scored two knockdowns in the round off concussive left hooks, the second one causing referee Joe Cortez to halt the bout.
Mayweather is definitely the best pound-for-pound, far and away, wire-to-wire.
Also, Jeff Lacy rebounded from shoulder surgery to post a 10-round decision over Peter Manfredo.
I don't think anyone has an argument about Mayweather. Six world titles in five weight classes......I don't think anyone can top that.
