when i saw the comparision of kansas and missouri i was shocked. i can't believe missouri went from being one game away from the national championship to being out of a bcs game.
i understand kansas has only one loss, but missouri's SOS was WAAAAY better and they BEAT kansas.....plus, both their losses were to oklahoma.

I agree. Missouri should be in ahead of Kansas.

I really don't understand this. Isn't Kansas an at-large team? So couldn't the orange bowl have chosen Mizzou instead?
Would Kansas fans travel better? I think the average fan would much rather watch Mizzou than Kansas.

The problem is that you can't have three teams from the same conference in BCS games. So it came down to Missouri and Kansas. As much as I can't stand Chase Daniel's whiny little ass, they certainly should have been voted ahead of Kansas. This was a travesty. And I'm still wondering if LSU would have been voted in if the game had not been in New Orleans? Just some things to think about.

Let me answer two questions here. 1) Why was Kansas picked instead of Missouri? and 2) Why was LSU picked to play in the BCS Title game instead of Oklahoma or USC? The answer............TICKET SALES AND TV RATINGS.

Everything you said is true but, You mean why Ohio State was picked over Oklahoma or USC, the two best teams right now is LSU & Oklahoma. It is just a bit funny to me that we will get to see these Miles vs. Tressel and Michigan is still looking for a coach Seems like this game could be next Bo vs. Woody.

Well, if the system were set up to pick the 2 hottest teams right now, I would pick Georgia and Oklahoma, but you know what? IT ISN"T SET UP THAT WAY! The system rewards the team over an entire year and until it changes, I don't want to hear any whining about Ohio State in the championship game.
By the way, Georgia would kick the crap out of LSU, they just lost a tie breaker to Tennessee to play in the SEC Championship game. The best team in the country right now is Oklahoma.

i think usc is great on paper, but i don't believe their one of the top two teams right now. people rip on osu's schedule, but look at usc's:
idaho (1-11)
nebraska (5-7)
washington state (5-7)
washington (4-8)
stanford (4-8).........and lost at HOME. better loss than osu's loss to ILL?
arizona (5-7)
notre dame (3-9)
oregon (8-4) - good team, but they lost
oregon state (8-4)
cal (6-6)
arizona state (10-2)
ucla (6-6)
that's TWO wins against teams with winning records.
strength of schedule:
osu = 43
usc = 73

Yeah, Stanford thinks USC is a REAL juggernaut. It's not ABOUT who's the hottest at the end of the year. It's about what you did the ENTIRE FREAKING SEASON.

Just curious, did Georgia and Tenn play during the regular season? If so, who won?

I think LSU is pretty obvious. But what about Kansas? Do they have a larger fan base than Missouri?
Personally I would much rather watch Missouri than Kansas

I would also, but I'm sure this had something to do with the committee picking Kansas. I wonder if there are more KU alumni in Florida than Missouri alumni? Or maybe they committed to buying more tickets if they were chosen> I don't know, but the NCAA and these Bowl Committees know nothing else but money, they don't care about the game or the teams.

Thank you. Georgia has no position in this argument, IMO.

Besides that, Mark Richt is a big-old whiney-ass baby. And on TV yet.

I hate to say it but Mizzou did get screwed. They beat Illinois (Rose Bowl) and Kansas (Orange Bowl) and only 2 losses were to Oklahoma (Fiesta Bowl). They should be in somewhere. Remember and this plays huge....Mangini is a loveable guy. Dont laugh..that really plays huge into this.
