Any update on any of our seniors playing some college fooball? I know Schott is going to Ball State, but is anyone else getting recruited?

Justin Turner is being recruited. Possibly even more heavily than Zwick and Crable were. But he is only a junior. Thank God.

He could be heading to Waynesburg to play for Shepas.

The only thing he could do is get a car & a house offered to him, because you are talking about two of the best at there postion.
And as for Cory, He's not a major offer kid, so if he wants to continue playing football and get a college education Waynesburg is great for him. They have a bunch of hardnose tough kids

Mount Union would be a better place for Corey than Waynesburg. If he is not getting any offers from D1 (which he should) or if he isn't satisfied with the offers, Mount is as good a place as any to go. He'll get to play ALOT of football (usually 14 games a year:no1: ), plus his knowledge of the game will increase greatly.

Cory is a good kid and a hard nosed football player but DI schollies are very hard to come by these days. A few bone crushing tackles and knowledge of the game is not enough to get you over the hump! Cory has ALOT of foootball left to play and if it is in DI then GREAT but if not---a college education is an collegfe education and better yet--FREE!!!!!!
I feel in recent years the massillon staff, counselors, and Admin have done a great job in securing great college deals for our student/athletes! This needs to change drastically for our program in the very near future. DT verbelled to OSU, Yoder and Schott to Ball state but after that what else are we getting? Are we talking to right schools, marketing these kids correctly, or even concerned about EVERY SENIOR on the team getting to college? I have been asking these questions for a few years and always brushed off in the end. Something needs to change and fast for our kids---recruiting has changed in recent years and we have developed skills to get our kids over the top!
FIX THAT IN THE PROGRAM!!!! Alot of Massillon kids have been shunned over the years because of lack of HELP!!!

I love Corey Hildreth - GREAT kid, GREAT family - he was by far and away the best player on this year's past team, period. (there are some great players but I'll go out on a limb and say that) Without him, our defense was zilch.
However....if you think he's a DI player, you haven't seen DI football. You won't see a 5'8 (5'9? at best) safety....and if you do he runs a 4.2
Corey will be a great DIII player and at best a solid DII player if he goes that high and hangs in there a couple of years.

Here is a list of some of the schools that have contacted Corey about playing for them. Baldwin Wallace, Marietta, Mount Union, Marrion, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Ohio Northern and Im sure there are more that I forgot.

Sounds about right, Coke Guy - and he is well deserving of all of those looks. Like I said, most are DIII. I'd like to see him at Ohio Northern - very good football team that challenges Mount year in and year out, and he will get more PT there than at Mount for sure.

Blake Seidler is being recruited by Marietta, Ohio Northern, Whittenburg, Washington & Jefferson, Alleghany, Denison, Balwin Wallace and some others. He is making visits to see what is the best fit academically and athletically. Probably will know more by end of January.

So you got Devoe, Schott, Yoder, Hildreth, and Seidler extending their careers to the college level. But you'd think more than just 5 seniors have ability to keep playing? Herring is going to OSU for track. I know Comouex was getting letters as a sophomore but that could've changed. What about Arnold? Massey? or Pettis who is one of the fastest if not the fastest on the team? I think they could most definitly play DIII football.

It's not necessarily about not having the ability to keep playing football, 22, sometimes a kid doesn't have further football aspirations beyond playing for the Massillon Tigers; sometimes they aspire to go onto other collegiate sports. Look at Huth, Colly, Jarvis, VanRyzin, Ellis, etc. etc.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) is a very high quality D2 school. A lot of years they are ranked in the top 25 in division 2 football. If they are looking at him I am surprised that Ashland or Slippery Rock or Clarion are not looking at him. Regardless of where Corey goes he will make a very fine addition to the team and what other coach lands him will be very lucky.

Your correct, Cory is a great player and was fun to watch but his size and speed hurts him for DI, Mount Union or even Ashland would be great for him. Good Luck to him!

IUP is a great place to play football. They get an avereage of about 12,000 to 15,000 fans a game.

Sorry I was thinking of another school. IUP's stadium holds about 7,000. Its still a good football program. Lou Tepper, the former Illinois head coach, is there head coach, I believe.

Isn't the all pro safety for the Indianapolis Colts, Bob Sanders, about 5'8"? He attended, I believe, Iowa, which is a D1 School, isn't it?:thanx:

C'mon!:wtf: I love Cory but no way do you compare him to Bob Sanders, who btw moves alot faster than Cory and I believe he was also an all-state player in Erie PA. He was a 4 year starter, 1st-team all big-10 his soph, junr, senr years and was the defensive captain and MVP for the Hawkeyes. Cory could not go to any of the big-10 schools and start, sorry can't happen.

This kid worked hard, stayed out of trouble, is a good kid, and can play some ball!
3 year varsity letterman(2year starter), 3 year varsity basketball player, and 3.3 GPA!! WE CANT GET THIS KID A DEAL?????
2006--- 44 tackles 6 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery
2007---36.5 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 1forced fumble
Thius is the 3rd year in a row that we cannot secure deals for some of our most WORTHY players!!!Shame, shame, shame!! it is not too late to fix this problem for this kid---get him a deal!!!!

Nobody is comparing him with Bob Sanders...I'm simply stating that the two were roughly the same size when coming out of HS...people grow and get stronger as they age, especially in a weight program in a D1 school...
