Kathryn Young, of Youngstown, hadn’t yet made her way through the gates at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium. But she was still impressed. She’s learned a lot about the city and its zeal for high school football. She hoped to taste a bit of it Friday.
“My daughter goes to Ursuline,” she said. “She’s on the flag line and they played Massillon. She was blown away. I guess you guys have a real tiger? The fans are so supportive. It takes your breath away.”
Bob Hennessey, also from Youngstown, was in Massillon last spring when Ursuline competed in the sectional baseball tournament.
He got a glimpse of the stadium then.
“I was here when they were laying the turf down back in June,” the 1976 Ursuline graduate said. “It’s a beautiful field....”
