CANTON TWP. Ohio High School Athletic Association Commissioner Dan Ross offered some advice Monday for Ohio State Head Coach Jim Tressel:
Don’t mess with Stark County high school football.
“Jim Tressel always raises his hand and says, ‘What do I have to do to get the (high school) playoffs moved to Columbus?’ ” Ross said, speaking to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Luncheon Club. “ ... I just say please don’t ask that question.”
Ross was in town in conjunction with this weekend’s 36th annual state playoff finals. This marks the 17th consecutive year that the OHSAA’s football championships will be held exclusively in Stark County.
