These would be the 1st round games according to BCS Rankings:
1 Missouri vs 16 Clemson
8 USC vs 9 Oklahoma
4 Georgia vs 13 Arizona St
5 Kansas vs 12 Hawaii
6 Va Tech vs 11 BOston College
3 Ohio St vs 14 Tennessee
7 LSU vs 10 Florida
2 WVU vs 15 Illinois
Would make for interesting 2nd round Match-ups which I think would look like:
1 Missouri vs 8 USC
4 Georgia vs 12 Hawaii
6 Va Tech vs 3 Ohio St
7 Lsu vs 2 WVU

I'd love to see this type of format, Crackerman, but I think you would only need the top 8 teams. Usually, that gives you the undefeated teams (if any) and some top 1-loss teams.

in most years...but this year Hawaii would be left out. I had 7 out of the 8 top seeds advancing with the exception of Kansas losing to Hawaii.lol

With this type of format, would it work if the first round games were played at the higher seed stadium, and the rest in bowls ??
Otherwise , who could afford to travel the country to see their team play in all the games ??
Plus, how many weeks would this add to an already long season ??
I do like the idea though. And, 16 teams would be a "no whine" situation for bubble teams.

1st round games played at higher seeds stadium with round 2 being the 4 Big Bowls....rose, orange, sugar, fiesta. Semi's at Neutral site along with title game.

I hate to say this, but this year OSU would not win in either scenario. I just see too many teams that could do to them what a fast quarterback at Illinois did. Now, with the format as it is, OSU has a heck of a chance of sneaking and and stealing one game from WVU or even Georgia if Pitt upsets WVU.

You have this and do away with some of the non-conference games. That way you wouldn't have to wait 50 days to play.

Or they could just move the season back 1 or two weeks... that would do it.

I believe a Big 10 conference championship would only reduce that wait by 7 days if it is played one week after the season ends.
